Revocation of License to conduct a Private Hospital.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 135 of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Health, do hereby revoke the private hospital license No. 1958, granted to Ruby Helen Smart to conduct a private hospital situated at “Malolo,” Commercial Road, Helensville.
Given under my hand at Wellington, this 29th day of October, 1940.

Fixing Date on which certain Returns under the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, are to be furnished.

PURSUANT to section 28 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, it is hereby notified that the returns showing the total gross amount of the premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended 31st December, 1940, shall be transmitted to the Fire Boards concerned in the manner prescribed by the said section on or before the 28th day of February, 1941.

Special Order made by the Makara County Council altering Riding Boundaries and adjusting Representation.

Wellington, 21st November, 1940.
THE following Special Order made by the Makara County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920, in so far as publication is required by that Act. Pursuant to section 100 of the aforesaid Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby fix the 21st day of April, 1941, as the date from which the redivision of the County into two ridings as set out in the said Special Order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER.
NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Council held on Friday, the 27th day of September, 1940, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held on Friday, the 8th day of November, 1940, at 10 a.m., at the Council Chambers, Ballance Street, Wellington C 1.
RESOLUTION.
(1) The present division of the County of Makara into six ridings is revoked and in lieu thereof the said County shall be divided into two ridings by amalgamating the existing Belmont, Makara, Ngahauranga, and Ohariu Ridings into one riding to be called the Makara Riding, and the Porirua-Titahi and Tawa Ridings in the other to be called the Porirua Riding.
(2) The said ridings are, respectively, described in the Schedule hereto.
(3) The Makara County Council shall consist of eight Councillors who shall be elected as follows:—
(a) The electors of the Makara Riding shall elect four Councillors.
(b) The electors of the Porirua Riding shall elect four Councillors.
(4) This Special Order shall take effect on a date to be fixed in that behalf by the Minister of Internal Affairs and notified in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
MAKARA RIDING.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, Makara County, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the mean high-water mark, Porirua Harbour, in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 99, Porirua District, Block VIII, Paekakariki Survey District; thence to and along that boundary to the easternmost corner of that section; thence generally southwards along the south-eastern boundary of Section 99 aforesaid, the north-eastern boundary of Section 29, and the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 32, Tukapu District, the northern boundary of Section 35, Horokiwi Road District, the western, northern, and eastern boundaries of Section 348 and the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 344, Hutt District, and thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 29, and 28, Horokiwi Road District, Block II, Belmont Survey District, the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 27, 26, 25, 24, 22, 21, 20, 16, 15, 14, 12, 11, and 9, Horokiwi Road District, Block VIII, Belmont Survey District; thence along the south-eastern boundary of Section 7, Horokiwi Road District, to and along the northern boundary of Section 78, Hutt District, Block XIII, Belmont Survey District, to the western boundary of the Borough of Petone; thence along the western boundary of the Borough of Petone to the mean high-water mark, Port Nicholson; thence in a south-westerly direction along the mean high-water mark aforesaid to its intersection with the northern boundary of the City of Wellington; thence along the general northern boundary of the City of Wellington, to and along the eastern, northern, and western boundaries of the Johnsonville Town District, to and along the general western boundary of the City of Wellington to the mean high-water mark, Cook Strait; thence westerly and northerly generally along the mean high-water mark, Cook Strait, to its intersection with the north-eastern boundary of Section 45, Ohariu District, Block V, Belmont Survey District; thence in an easterly direction generally along that boundary, the north-western boundary of Section 43, the north-western, north-eastern, and south-eastern boundaries of Section 42, and the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 43 and 44, Ohariu District, Block V, Belmont Survey District, to the westernmost corner of the Lunatic Asylum Reserve, shown in Survey Office plan 196/50; thence along the general southern boundary of the said Lunatic Asylum Reserve by right lines bearing 117° 50′, distance 1371·5 links; bearing 155° 51′, distance 1404·7 links; bearing 99° 36′, distance 1284·6 links; bearing 189° 55′ 52″, distance 788·3 links; bearing 99° 03′ 27″, distance 2927·5 links, to the north-western corner of Section 47, Porirua District, in Block V, Belmont Survey District; thence in a southerly direction generally along the eastern boundaries of Sections 123, 119, 118, 117, 116, 115, 114, and 106, Ohariu District, to the north-western corner of Section 20, Porirua District, in Block VI, Belmont Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 20 and 21, Porirua District, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence in a northerly direction generally along the western boundaries of Sections 6, 8, 10, 13, 17, 18, and 38, Horokiwi Road District, the western boundaries of Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, Tukapu District, the north-western boundaries of Sections 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17, Tukapu District, to the southernmost corner of Section 107, Porirua District, in Block II, Belmont Survey District; thence along the south-western boundary of Section 107 aforesaid, and its production to and across the Kenepuru Stream; thence along the right bank of the Kenepuru Stream to and along the right bank of the Porirua Stream to the mean high-water mark, Porirua Harbour; thence along the mean high-water mark, Porirua Harbour, to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 99, Porirua District, the point of commencement.
PORIRUA RIDING.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, Makara County, commencing at a point being the intersection of the north-eastern boundary of Section 45, Ohariu District, with the mean high-water mark, Cook Strait; thence in a north-westerly direction generally along the mean high-water mark, Cook Strait; thence in a southerly direction generally along the mean high-water mark, Porirua Harbour, to the mouth of the Porirua Stream; thence across the Porirua Stream to its right bank on the boundary of the Makara Riding heretofore described; thence generally southerly, westerly, northerly, and north-westerly along the boundary of Makara Riding heretofore described, to the point of commencement.
The Common Seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Makara was hereunto affixed pursuant to a resolution passed at a meeting of the Council held on the 8th day of November, 1940.
