Notice as to the Making of By-laws under the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Amendment Act, 1933.—(Notice No. Ag. 3790.)

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Amendment Act, 1933, as amended by section 4 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1936, of the making by the Societies named in the Schedule hereto and of the approval by the Governor-General of by-laws under the above entitled Act controlling the admission of persons to any place used or occupied by the said Societies for any meetings, show, exhibition, competition, or entertainment held by each such Society. The by-laws made by the Feilding Industrial, Agricultural, and Pastoral Association on the 25th day of October, 1935, and published in the Gazette on the 21st day of November, 1935, at page 3933, are substantially the same as the by-laws made by the said Societies to which this notice relates.

The Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and its Amendments.—
Fixing the Closing-hours of all Shops in the Matiere Riding
of the Ohura County.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing signed by a majority of the occupiers of all shops within the Matiere Riding of the Ohura County has been forwarded to me desiring that all such shops within the said riding be closed in the evening of working-days as follows:—
On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, at 5.15 p.m., and on Fridays at 8.30 p.m., with the following exceptions:—
(1) On the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day and on the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day the closing-hour shall be 10 p.m.;
(2) On the Thursday immediately preceding Good Friday and on the Thursday immediately preceding any of the following days, viz., Anniversary Day, Anzac Day, and the Sovereign’s Birthday, when such day falls on a Friday, the hour of closing shall be 8.30. p.m.;
(3) Should the occupier of any shop affected by this notice observe, pursuant to the provisions of section 14 of the Act, the statutory half-holiday on Saturdays, then the hour of closing on Wednesdays for such shop shall be 5.15 p.m.:

And whereas I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said riding:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 9th day of December, 1940, all the said shops within the said riding shall be closed accordingly.

Notice of Adoption under Part IX of the Native Land Act, 1931.

IT is hereby notified that the order of adoption as set out in the Schedule hereunder has been made by the Native Land Court under the provisions of the Native Land Act, 1931.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Manufacture for Sale of Macaroni.

APPLICATIONS have been received from the following for licenses to commence to carry on the above industry:—
(1) J. Yock and Co., Ltd., Auckland.
(2) Timaru Milling Co., Ltd., Timaru.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 5th of December, 1940.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

APPLICATIONS have been received from the following for licenses to carry on the above industry:—
(1) W. Jane, Kopu, operating around Wairoa by means of the 14 ft. fishing vessel “Mako” and using set-nets and hand lines.
(2) W. C. Wright, Whakatane, operating around Whakatane, by means of the fishing vessel “Theresa May” and using long lines, hand lines, and crayfish-pots.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing to the undersigned not later than the 5th December, 1940.

(2) R. Baxter, Oaro, to operate along the Kaikoura coast by means of a 14 ft. outboard motor-boat, using set-nets and hand lines.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing to the undersigned not later than the 5th December, 1940.
