Constituting the Scott’s Gap-Otautau Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 3792.)

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of November, 1940.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on petition in that behalf signed by a majority of the persons qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers list for any proposed district, constitute and declare any area of land of not less than one thousand acres a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act: And whereas in pursuance of the provisions of the said section thirty of the said Act a petition has been received praying that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto be constituted and declared a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petitioners accordingly:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute by the specific name of the “Scott’s Gap-Otautau Rabbit District” and declare that area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purpose of Part II of the said Act, and doth hereby further declare that the basis on which the Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.

SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE SCOTT’S GAP-OTAUTAU RABBIT DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District containing 24,800 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 7, Block XII, Waiau Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction along the south-eastern boundary of Block IX, Waiau Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 204, Block XII, Wairio Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction generally along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 204, 177, part 96, a public road, part 96, 18, and a public road, Block XII aforesaid: thence in a north-easterly direction generally along the northern boundaries of Sections 99 and 100, Block XII aforesaid, and Section 101, Block XIII, Wairio Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 4, Block XIII aforesaid; thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-western boundary of the said Section 4 to the north-western corner of Section 102, Block XIII aforesaid; thence in a southerly direction along the western boundary of the said Section 102, to and across a closed road, to a public road; thence in a westerly direction along the northern boundary of the said public road to and across the Otautau Stream; thence in a south-easterly direction generally across the aforesaid public road and along the western bank of the Otautau Stream, Blocks IV, III, and II, Aparima Hundred, to the north-western corner of the Town District of Otautau; thence in a southerly and easterly direction generally along the said town district boundary to the Aparima River; thence along the western bank of the said Aparima River to a public road forming part of the northern boundary of Section 3, Block I, Aparima Hundred; thence in a north-westerly, westerly, north-westerly, and south-westerly direction along the northern boundary of the said public road to the south-western corner of Lot 27, D.P. 120, Block I aforesaid; thence in a southerly direction across the said public road to the north-eastern corner of Section 4, Block XXII, Jacobs River Hundred; thence in a south-westerly direction along the northern boundary of Block XXII aforesaid to a public road; thence in a north-westerly direction generally along the eastern boundary of the said public road, Blocks V and VII, Aparima Hundred, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 22, Block VII aforesaid; thence across the said public road and along the south-western boundary of the said Section 22; thence in a north-westerly direction along the south-western boundaries of Sections 13, 12, 11, and 10, Block VII aforesaid; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Blocks XV and XII, Waiau Survey District; thence in a north-westerly direction along the north-eastern boundary of Block XII aforesaid, to the point of commencement.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Tengawai Survey District, Canterbury Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of November, 1940.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for a site for a gravel-pit: And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation over such land shall be changed to a reserve for recreation purposes:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for a site for a gravel-pit to a reserve for recreation purposes.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

RESERVE 3592, Block XII, Tengawai Survey District: Area, 1 acre, more or less.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Kawhia Domain.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Martin Ward Oldbury,
Walter Lewin Ward,
Malcolm Patteson Goldsbro’,
Rex Romalo Joseph Nesbit,

to be the Kawhia Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Saturday, the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Kawhia Settler Office as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

KAWHIA DOMAIN, AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL those areas in Kawhia Town District, Kawhia County, containing by admeasurement 13 acres 0 roods 34 perches, more or less, situated in Blocks IX and X, Kawhia North Survey District, being Sections 1 and 3, Block X, Kawhia North Survey District, Section 1, Block XI, Kawhia Township, Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 16, 17, 18, 19, and Lot 1 of Sections 7, 8, 9, and 10, Block I, Te Puru Township.
