Lands in Canterbury Land District forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the leases of the undermentioned lands, having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Canterbury Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915.

Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, 11th November, 1940.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 13th January, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 15th January, 1941, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.


SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Franklin County.—Awhitu Parish.

(Exempt from payment of rent for three years.*)

ALLOTMENT S.W. 69: Area, 163 acres 0 roods 13 perches. Capital value, £165; half-yearly rent, £3 6s.

Rental exemption is conditional upon improvements to value of £15 being effected annually in addition to the improvements required by the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

The section is situated with frontage to Hatton’s Road, one mile from junction with main Awhitu Road, three miles from Matakawau Post-office and about twenty-two miles from Waiuku Railway-station; the access road from the main road is metalled for 20 chains, balance clay road but practically an all-weather route except for heavy traffic. Property comprises 15 acres drainable rush swamp, 15 acres flat, balance easy rising to steep in places; about three-quarters ploughable. Soil is light brown with ironstone showing in places, while section is watered by two permanent streams. Section carries some manuka, fern, hakea, and rushes with some self-sown pines.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 16th December, 1940.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 18th December, 1940, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant will be required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Kawhia County.—Pirongia Survey District.

SECTION 12, Block V: Area, 609 acres. Capital value, £260. Deposit on deferred payments, £10. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £8 2s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 4s.

Weighted with £250 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising dwelling, cow-byre, whare, fencing, and grassing.

This property is situated on Okupata Road, eight miles from Oparau Post-office and School, and twenty-three miles from Otorohanga. It is a sheep and cattle proposition although a herd of about fifteen cows could be milked; hard country and very light. There is 60 acres in medium pasture, 30 acres has been cleared, burnt, and surface sown, balance fern and light bush; subdivided into ten paddocks, poorly fenced.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease—term, thirty-three years—under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 14th January, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Thursday, 16th January, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.
