Manufacture for Sale of Footwear.
A N application has been received from W. E. Clare, Auckland, for a license to carry on the above industry to the extent of manufacturing men's, boys', girls', and youths' footwear, sandals, and slippers, using the machine-sewn, fair-stitch, welted, and rivetted or screwed processes.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing to the undersigned not later than the 21st November, 1940.

Election of Member of Canterbury Land Board.

I, NORMAN CHARLES KENSINGTON, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Canterbury Land Board, do hereby declare in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated to fill the vacancy occurring on the said Board was William Alexander Mackintosh, of "Woodburn," Fairlie.
And I do therefore declare that the said William Alexander Mackintosh is duly elected a member of the Canterbury Land Board for a term of two years from the 9th day of December, 1940.
