A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road in Huiroa Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 31·05 perches. Adjoining or passing through Railway land.

Situated in Block V, Huiroa Survey District (Taranaki R.D.). (S.O. 7835.)

In the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 104198, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 29th day of October, 1940.

Stopping Government Road in Blocks V and VI, Paekakariki Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as stopped the Government road described in the Schedule hereto, such road being no longer required.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road hereby stopped: 22·8 perches.

Being formerly part Lot 13, D.P. 5508, being part Pukerua 3A 4 and 3C 1A and part closed road.

Situated in Blocks V and VI, Paekakariki Survey District. (S.O. 20552.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 108173, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 29th day of October, 1940.

Boundaries of City of Christchurch and County of Waimairi altered.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 31st day of October, 1940.

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS in pursuance of section one hundred and thirty-six of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that a certain area of land be excluded from the County of Waimairi and included in the City of Christchurch:

And whereas a Commission appointed under the said section held inquiries and recommended that the said area be excluded from the County of Waimairi and included in the City of Christchurch:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to make the alteration of boundaries recommended by the said Commission:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Waimairi and included in the City of Christchurch.

SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF WAIMAIRI AND INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the western side of Slater Street with the southern side of Shirley Road; thence westerly along the southern side of Shirley Road to a point in line with the eastern side of Hills Road; thence to and along the eastern side of Hills Road to a point in line with the production of the south-western side of Shirley Road; thence along the production of the south-western side of Shirley Road to a point in line with the western side of Hills Road; thence northerly to and along the western side of Hills Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Lot 21, on plan 11557, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Christchurch; thence easterly across Hills Road and along the northern boundary of Lot 21 aforesaid to the north-eastern corner of the said Lot 21; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Lots 21 to 1, inclusive, on plan 11557 aforesaid, Lots 3, 2, and 1 on plan 10870, deposited as aforesaid, Lots 1, 2, and 3 on plan 7874, deposited as aforesaid, the northern and eastern boundary of Lot 2 and the eastern and southern boundary of Lot 1 on plan 11452 deposited as aforesaid, and the eastern boundary of Lot 5 on aforesaid plan 7874, to the easternmost corner of Lot 6 on said plan 7874; thence along the northern boundary of Lots 7 and 9 on said plan 7874, to the north-eastern corner of the said Lot 9; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Lot 9; and that boundary produced across Shirley Road to the western side of Slater Street, the point of commencement.
