IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that, by an entry in the minute-book, a special resolution was passed on the 7th day October, 1940, that the Taihape Sawmilling Company, Limited, be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. Noel Ashenden, Public Accountant, Taihape, be appointed liquidator for the purpose of such winding up.

THE creditors of the above-named company are required on or before the 31st October, 1940, to send their names and addresses and particulars of their debts or claims to the undersigned liquidator of the said company or if required in writing by the liquidator to come in and prove such debts or claims or in default thereof they will be excluded from the benefit of such distribution made before such debts are proved.

MIDAS LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of MIDAS LIMITED (in Voluntary Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 222, that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of Midas Limited, held at the registered office of the company, 42 Brougham Street, New Plymouth, on Thursday, the 3rd day of October, 1940, it was resolved by special resolution that the company be wound up voluntarily, under the provisions of section 221 of the Act, and that Mr. P. S. Carroll, Public Accountant, New Plymouth, be, and is hereby appointed liquidator.

TE AWAMUTU ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of every other power in that behalf it enabling, the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:--

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £28,000, authorized to be raised by the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of contracting and erecting transmission-lines, transformer-stations, and all fittings and appliances for conveying, transmitting, or distributing electricity, including the purchase of all necessary land, buildings, material, plant and tools, and all payments for labour, engineer's services, plans and supervision, and for compensation to owners of property and for the purchase of motors, electric wires, lamps, fittings, machinery and equipment, and installing the same on or in public or private land or buildings in the Pirongia-Kawhia Special Rating Area, the said Te Awamutu Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of fourpence farthing (4½d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the said Pirongia-Kawhia Special Rating Area, being portions of the Counties of Otorohanga and Kawhia added to the Te Awamutu Electric-power District by Proclamations of His Excellency the Governor-General and described in paragraph (a) of the Schedule to a Proclamation appearing in the New Zealand Gazette of F

14th May, 1936, at page 884, and in the Schedules of Proclamations appearing in the New Zealand Gazette of 21st October, 1937, at page 2363, and 21st December, 1938, at page 2813; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 8th day of October, 1940, the above-named company duly resolved as a special resolution by way of entry in the minute-book, as provided by section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933:--

(1) That the company be wound up voluntarily.

(2) That JOHN JOSEPH HALL, of Dunedin, Public Accountant, be, and he is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.

KAIRANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.

The Rural Housing Loan No. 1, 1940, £10,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the Kairanga County Council hereby resolves as follows:--

"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of instalments in respect of principal and interest and also other charges on a loan of £10,000 in respect of the Rural Housing Loan No. 1, 1940, £10,000, authorized to be raised by the Kairanga County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making advances to farmers for the erection of dwellings under the Rural Housing Act, 1939, the said Kairanga County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixty-one one-thousandths (61/1000ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Kairanga; and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Council held on Tuesday, the 8th October, 1940.

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Waikato County Council hereby resolves as follows:--

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of thirty thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Waikato County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of advancing money to farmers for the provision of dwellings under the Rural Housing Act, 1939, the said Waikato County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-one-hundredths of a penny (9/100d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the County of Waikato; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
