Notifying Land in Canterbury Land District to be subject to
the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 1st October, 1940.

PURSUANT to the provisions of subsection (2) of sec-
tion 48 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, notice
is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule
hereto, being the land known as Waikakahi Settlement
Extension, was acquired by the Crown on the 2nd day of
September, 1940, and became subject to the provisions of
the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, as from that date.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—WAIKAKAHI SETTLEMENT
EXTENSION.

All that area containing by admeasurement 766 acres
2 roods 4 perches, more or less, and being parts of Rural
Sections 16733, 18079, 19628, and 20197, situated in Blocks
VIII and XI, Elephant Hill Survey District, and bounded
as follows: Towards the north by a public road 2417-6 links,
2500-0 links, 2410-0 links, 3747-0 links, and 3327-0 links;
towards the east by Reserve 1129, 7164-0 links; towards
the south by Middle Road 7727-0 links; towards the south-
west generally by Lot 1, D.P. 6747, 2257-8 links, 236-8 links,
201-6 links, 427-4 links, 466-2 links, 1449-1 links, 2063-5 links,
and 452-8 links; and again towards the south-west by a
public road 2480-2 links and 1898-0 links. As the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
21/149/905 “A,” deposited in the Head Office, Department
of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered
red.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License
under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Manufacture of Gut from Casings.

AN application has been received from Bentley Bros.,
Sydney, for a license to commence to carry on the
above industry in New Zealand.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected
by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the
undersigned not later than the 17th October, 1940.

P. Coleman and Co., Ltd., Wanganui Declined an application on the 2nd September, 1940, for a license to resell motor-spirits at premises at 115 Guyton Street, Wanganui Previous decision now reversed and application granted.
