Opotiki–Matawai via Motu.—All that road or portion of road in Waikohu County, commencing at the junction with the Whakatane–Gisborne via Waioeka Main Highway in Matawai Township, Block X, Motu Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction and terminating at the Motu River Bridge, Motu Village, Block III, Motu Survey District, being a distance of 8 miles 44 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 106242, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, thereon coloured green, and marked X–Y.
Taurangakautuku Valley.—All that road or portion of road in Matakaoa County, commencing at the junction with the Gisborne–Te Araroa Main Highway and proceeding thence in a south-westerly direction and terminating in Section 5A 2, Block III, Mangaporo Survey District, being a distance of 5 miles 64 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 71572, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Arakihi.—All that road or portion of road in Uawa County, commencing at its junction with the Tologa–Tauwhareparae Main Highway at a point opposite the western boundary of Lot 9, Block X, Uawa Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction by way of Arakihi Road and terminating at the top of the Arakihi Hill at a point near the south-western corner of Section 7, Block IX, Uawa Survey District, being a distance of 3 miles 10 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 90929, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Opotiki–Te Araroa.—All that road or portion of road in Matakaoa County, commencing at the junction of Maui Street and Pohutu Road, Te Araroa Township, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction and terminating at the Matakaoa County north-western boundary opposite Part 1A, Whangaparaoa No. 1 Block, Block II, Whangaparaoa Survey District, being a distance of 30 miles 60 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 106281, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, thereon coloured green, and marked Z–A.
Motu Front.—All that road or portion of road in the Waikohu County, commencing at its junction with the Whakatane–Gisborne via Waioeka Main Highway at the western boundary of the Waikohu Railway-station and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction and terminating at a point near the western boundary of Block XIV, Mangatu Survey District, being a distance of 4 miles 52 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 106242, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, thereon coloured yellow, and marked O–P.
Also all that road or portion of road in the Waikohu County, commencing at its junction with the Opotiki–Matawai via Motu Main Highway near Motu Village in Section 2, Block III, Motu Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction and terminating at a point opposite Section 10, Block VII, Motu Survey District, being a distance of 4 miles, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 106242, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, thereon coloured yellow, and marked Q–R.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 5.
Taupo–Napier.—All that road or portion of road in the Hawke’s Bay County, commencing at the north-western boundary of the said county at the Mohaka River Bridge and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction via Te Pohue and Eskdale and terminating at its junction with the Gisborne–Napier via Hangaroa Main Highway near the bridge over the Esk River on the latter highway, being a distance of 29 miles 8 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107461, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured brown.
Gisborne–Napier via Hangaroa.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Wairoa and Hawke’s Bay, commencing at the Wairoa County northern boundary and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via Frasertown, Wairoa, Mohaka, Putorino, and Tutira, but excluding that portion in Wairoa Borough, and terminating at its junction with Hyderabad Road at the western boundary of the Borough of Napier, being a distance of 99 miles 52 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107461, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Also all those streets or portions of streets in Wairoa Borough, commencing at the northern boundary of the said borough at the Awatere Stream and proceeding thence generally in a southerly, easterly, and south-westerly direction via Carroll Street, River Parade, the Wairoa River Traffic Bridge, Paul Street, and the Main Napier Road and terminating at the western boundary of the said borough, being a distance of 2 miles 4 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107462, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Napier–Palmerston North.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Hawke’s Bay, Patangata, Waipawa, Waipukurau, Dannevirke, and Woodville, commencing at the south-eastern boundary of the Borough of Napier at the junction of Ellison Street with the Marine Parade and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via Farndon, Hastings, Otane, Waipawa, Waipukurau, Norsewood, Dannevirke, and Woodville, but excluding those portions in the Boroughs of Hastings, Waipawa, Waipukurau, Dannevirke, and Woodville, and terminating at the south-western boundary of the Woodville County at the Woodville end of the bridge over the Manawatu River known as the Gorge Bridge, being a distance of 89 miles 27 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107461, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Also all those streets or portions of streets in the Waipawa Borough, commencing at the northern boundary of the said borough and proceeding thence generally in a southerly and westerly direction via the Great North Road, Ruataniwha Road, and the Waipawa River Bridge and terminating at the southern boundary of Waipawa Borough at the middle point of the said bridge, being a distance of 2 miles 36 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107463, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Also all those streets or portions of streets in the Borough of Waipukurau, commencing at the northern boundary of the said borough and proceeding thence generally in a southerly and westerly direction via Herbert Street and Ruataniwha Road and terminating at the western boundary of the said borough, being a distance of 62 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107464, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Also all those streets or portions of streets in the Borough of Dannevirke, commencing at the north-eastern boundary of the said borough and proceeding thence generally in a southerly and south-westerly direction via High Street, North High Street, and Stanley Street and terminating at the south-western boundary of the said borough at the Tapuata Stream, being a distance of 2 miles 16 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107465, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Also all that street or portion of street in the Borough of Woodville, commencing at the eastern boundary of the said borough at the junction of Pinfold Road and Vogel Street and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction via Vogel Street and terminating at the western boundary of the said borough at the junction of Vogel Street and Upper Woodland Road, being a distance of 1 mile 48 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107466, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Woodville–Masterton.—All that road or portion of road in the Woodville County, commencing at the southern boundary of Woodville Borough and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction and terminating at the Woodville County southern boundary at the Ngawapurua combined road and railway bridge over the Manawatu River, being a distance of 3 miles 33 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107461, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured brown.
Also all that street or portion of street in the Woodville Borough, commencing at the junction of Vogel Street and McLean Street and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction via McLean Street and terminating at the southern boundary of the said borough, being a distance of 45 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107466, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Gisborne–Wairoa via Morere.—All that road or portion of road in the Wairoa County, commencing at the northern boundary of the said county and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction to Nuhaka and thence in a westerly direction to Wairoa and terminating at the north-eastern boundary of the Borough of Wairoa, being a distance of 39 miles 47 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 107461, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured brown.
