WHEREAS EDWIN ALFRED TAPPER, of Inver-
cargill, Timber-merchant, is the registered proprietor
of a tramway easement created by Transfer 5651, dated
27th June, 1884, over Lot 6, Plan 137, part Section 9, Block
VII, Invercargill Hundred, Vol. 33, folio 132, of which said
land the Public Trustee as executor of William James Curry,
late of Longbush, Farmer, deceased, is the registered
proprietor, and whereas evidence has been supplied to me
that the above easement has been determined or extinguished,
I therefore hereby give notice, pursuant to section 3, Land
Transfer Amendment Act, 1939, that I intend to notify on
the Register the determination or extinguishment of the
said easement unless objection is lodged with me on or before
4th November, 1940.
Dated at the Land Registry Office, Invercargill, the 25th
day of September, 1940.

APPLICATION having been made to me for the issue of
a provisional renewable lease in favour of ROBERT
McDONALD, of Pourakina, Engine-driver, for Section 9,
Block XXI, Jacobs River Hundred, being the land contained
in Register-book, Vol. 141, folio 96, and evidence having
been lodged of the destruction of the said renewable lease,
I hereby give notice that I shall issue a provisional renewable
lease as requested, upon the expiration of fourteen days
from the 3rd October, 1940.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC
WORKS ACT, 1928.
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,
and the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Whangarei Borough
Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely,
the extension of Percy Street in the Borough of Whangarei—
and for the purposes of such public works the lands described
in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice
is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to
be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to
the said Council, situated in Bank Street, and is open for
inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office
hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections
in writing and send the same within forty days from the first
publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at the Council
Chambers, Bank Street.
