THE following special order made by the Blenheim Borough Council on the 28th day of September, 1939, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.
“It was resolved on the motion of Councillor Mitchell seconded by Councillor Richardson that in pursuance of the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, and all other powers in that behalf thereunto enabling it, the Blenheim Borough Council by way of special order doth hereby declare that all of the plants mentioned in the Second Schedule of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, are noxious weeds within the boundaries of the Borough of Blenheim.”

Manufacture of Paper-pulp and Paper Products.
NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been received from the following for licenses to engage in the industry of “the manufacture of paper-pulp or paper products” (as defined in the Industry Licensing (Pulp and Paper Manufacture) Notice 1939):—
(1) J. J. Norris, Christchurch.
(2) New Zealand Pulping Mills, Ltd., Auckland.
(3) Weeks Ltd., Christchurch (multi-wall paper-bags only).
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 19th January, 1940.

Manufacture of Soap.
NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been received from the Ados Chemical Co., Ltd., for a license to carry on the industry of “the manufacture for sale of soap and soap-powder” (as defined in the Industry Licensing (Soap-manufacture) Notice 1939, Amendment No. 1) in respect of the manufacture of soap-powder products, viz., metal cleaners and detergents.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 23rd January, 1940.

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been received from Young Bros., Timaru, for permission to extend their present operations (assembly only) to include the manufacture of plates, plate group-posts, and cell connections.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 25th January, 1940.

Fish Retailing.
NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been received from—
- M. Glamuzina for a license to conduct the business of fish retailing at premises at 10 Normans Road, Christchurch.
- L. Williams for a license to conduct the business of fish retailing at premises at 198 Colombo Street, Christchurch.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 25th January, 1940. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same and (where applicable) include a statement showing the average monthly turnover of the business of the person making the representations, and the extent to which it is considered the granting of each application would affect such turnover.

Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.
NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been received from—
(1) Williams and Armour, Ltd., for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirits from one portable petrol pump to be installed at the Camping-ground, Alexandra.
(2) G. Mincher for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirits from two petrol pumps proposed to be installed at a new parking-area at the corner of Queen and Mary Streets, Thames.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 25th January, 1940. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same, and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput of petrol sold, and the nature of the business conducted by the person making the representations.

Law Practitioners Amendment Act, 1935.
NOTICE is hereby given that on the 11th day of December, 1939, there was filed in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington an order made by the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Law Society on the 7th day of December, 1939, ordering that the name of Robert Nichol, of Dunedin, be struck off the roll of solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand and he pay the sum of £21 costs.

Law Practitioners Amendment Act, 1935.
NOTICE is hereby given that on the 11th day of December, 1939, there was filed in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington an order made by the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Law Society on the 7th day of December, 1939, ordering that Basil Henry Blackwell Pinfold, of Dunedin, be suspended from practice for two years from date of hearing and that he pay ten guineas towards the costs of the proceedings.
