Withdrawing Land from the Operation of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 20th day of December, 1939.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty-two of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on the recommendation of the Land Board, declare that any land comprised in a kauri-gum reserve shall, from a date to be specified in the Order, and on and after the date so specified the land to which the Order relates shall become subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924:
And whereas the Land Board of the North Auckland Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the portion of the Puketotoe Kauri-gum Reserve, as described in the Schedule hereto be excepted from the operations of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and it is expedient to give effect to such effect:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section one hundred and sixty-two of the Land Act, 1924, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the portion of the Puketotoe Kauri-gum Reserve as described in the Schedule hereto shall, from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in Mangonui County, containing by admeasurement 99 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, situated in Block VIII, Rangaunu Survey District, being part Puketotoe Kauri-gum Reserve: Bounded, towards the north-west by a public road; towards the east by Allotments 31 and 32, Waiake Parish; towards the south-east by Section 14, Block VIII, Rangaunu Survey District; towards the south-west by Section 13, Block VIII, Rangaunu Survey District, for a distance of 1792·6 links; towards the north-west again by part Puketotoe Kauri-gum Reserve following right lines 37° 25′ 30″, 1158·6 links; 24° 14′ 30″, 154·3 links, to the public road aforesaid. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L and S. 6/4/62A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Officer authorized to take and receive Statutory Declarations.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Walter Alan Pickford, being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of Postmaster and Telephonist at To Anau, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 18th day of December, 1939.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

GALWAY Governor-General.
PURSUANT to section sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and to an Order in Council made thereunder on the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby appoint
Rouvi of Ivirua
to be a member of the Island Council of Mangaia during his pleasure as from the date hereof, in lieu of Peraua, resigned.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 20th day of December, 1939.
