GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the land in the Otago Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for recreation purposes.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 1, Block XV, Lower Wanaka Survey District: Area, 14 acres 3 roods 31 perches, more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 2nd day of February, 1939.

STAFF.
Major H. D. McHugh, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Area Staff Officer, No. 1 Area, Auckland, and is appointed Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster-General, Northern Military District, Auckland. Dated 28th November, 1938.
Captain J. A. M. Clachan, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Area Officer, No. 4 Area, and Adjutant, The Waikato Mounted Rifles and 1st Composite Mounted Rifles Regiment, Hamilton, dated 30th November, 1938, and on proceeding to Australia to take up an appointment at the Royal Military College of Australia, is seconded. Dated 10th January, 1939.
Captain S. F. Allen, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Instructor, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham, dated 30th November, 1938, and is appointed Area Officer, No. 4 Area, and Adjutant, The Waikato Mounted Rifles and 1st Composite Mounted Rifles Regiment, Hamilton. Dated 1st December, 1938.
Lieutenant R. B. Dawson, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 10 Area, Christchurch. Dated 18th January, 1939.
Lieutenant W. C. T. Foley, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 11 Area, Dunedin. Dated 18th January, 1939.
Lieutenant M. T. S. Dew, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 1 Area, Auckland. Dated 18th January, 1939.
Lieutenant A. J. Young, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 5 Area, Wellington. Dated 18th January, 1939.
Lieutenant D. Curtis, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Instructor, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 18th January, 1939.
Lieutenant J. A. Murray, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Instructor, Northern Military District School of Instruction, Narrow Neck. Dated 18th January, 1939.
Lieutenant F. N. Armstrong, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Instructor, Southern Military District School of Instruction, Burnham. Dated 18th January, 1939.
N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS.
Lieutenant J. K. H. Clark, Central Depot, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 5. Dated 24th January, 1939.
N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend H. Harris, Chaplain, 4th Class (Church of England) is transferred to the Reserve List, Class II Area 5. Dated 13th January, 1939.
RESERVE OF OFFICERS.
The Canterbury Regiment.
Captain H. I. Willis, M.C., is posted to the Retired List with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 8th July, 1938.
