Declaring a Portion of Railway Land at Otahuhu to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section thirty-five of the Public Works Act, 1928, it is provided that in the case of any land taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government work, and not required for that purpose, the Governor-General may, on recommendation by the Minister, by Proclamation declare such land to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1924, and thereupon the land may be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly :

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section thirty-five of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 15 acres 0 roods 34·84 perches.

Portion of Railway land (part Lot 1, D.P. 6623 of Fairburn’s Old Land Claim No. 269A), Block VI, Otahuhu Survey District, Borough of Otahuhu. (S.O. 29979, blue.)

In the North Auckland Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 5508, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 31st day of January, 1939.

Crown Land set apart as a Permanent State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—CANTERBURY FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Ashley County, containing by admeasurement 1,024 acres, more or less, being Reserve 4404, situated in Blocks VI, VII, X, and XI, Mt. Thomas Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north-west by Rural Section 36963, a total of 14,297·1 links; towards the north-east by the road reserved along the south bank of the south branch of the Okuku River; towards the south-east by Rural Section 37047, a total of 14,344·0 links; and towards the south-west by Reserves 3271 and 3114 (State Forest—Gazette 1898, page 1458, and Gazette 1881, page 960), 12,787·3 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 135/2 deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 4th day of February, 1939.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Hokianga County, containing by admeasurement 72 acres 2 roods 18 perches, more or less, and being Section 93, Block IX, Wacku Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan number 7/27, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (North Auckland Plan S.O. 29847.)

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 4th day of February, 1939.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Town of Tuwp, Auckland Land District.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 30th day of January, 1939.

Present :

THE RIGHT HON. M. J. SAVAGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve duly set apart as a site for a redoubt or other purposes of the General Government : And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation over such land shall be changed to a reserve for recreation purposes :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose of that portion of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve as a site for a redoubt or other purposes of the General Government to a reserve for recreation purposes.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Taupo County, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 19·7 perches, more or less, being part Section 1, Block XXXIV, Town of Taupo, bounded : Towards the north-east by Waikato Street, 387·9 links; towards the south-east by other part Section 1, Block XXXIV, Town of Taupo, 354·0 links; towards the south-west by Sections 2 and 2, Block XXXIV, Town of Taupo, 387·9 links; and towards the north-west by Landing Reserve, 354·0 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/2684, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged blue. (Auckland plan S.O. 29704.)
