Eric George Rhodes,

to be Registrar of Marriages for the District of Gisborne under the Marriage Act, 1908, Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Gisborne under the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1924, and Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Gisborne under the Maori Births and Deaths Registration Regulations, 1935, as from the 1st day of August, 1939.

John Henry Victor Carr,

to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Auckland, as from the 29th day of July, 1939.

Thomas Cecil Bowker,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Auckland, as from the 29th day of July, 1939.

Portion of Mohaka Consolidation Scheme confirmed.

In the matter of section 161 of the Native Land Act, 1931, and in the matter of a proposed scheme of consolidation in respect of the Mohaka 1A and other blocks.

NOTICE is hereby given that a scheme of consolidation (in part) dated the 5th day of April, 1938, dealing with the Mohaka, Waipapa, Waihua, Putere, Rotokakarangu, and Whareraurakau Blocks as set out in the Mohaka Consolidation Scheme, having been prepared by the Native Land Court in accordance with the above-mentioned Act, and submitted under the seal of the said Court to the Native Minister for his approval, I, Henry Greathead Rex Mason, acting for the Native Minister, being satisfied that the scheme so submitted is just and equitable and is in the public interest, do hereby confirm the portion of the said scheme of consolidation which was so submitted on the 5th day of April, 1938.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block II, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Waitati and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 13·1 perches.

Being portion of Lots 2 and 3, Deeds Plan 401, Township of Merchiston, being part Section 1 of 19.

Situated in Block II, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District (Otago R.D.). (S.O. N 120.)

In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 102913, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Notice of Intention to take Land for Housing Purposes in the Borough of Lower Hutt.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and section 32 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1936, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Lower Hutt and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 21·82 perches.

Being Section 26, Block L, Hutt Valley Settlement.

Situated in Block XIV, Belmont Survey District (Borough of Lower Hutt).

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 104118, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Classification of Road in Makara County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve of the Main Highways Board’s proposed classification of the road described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Makara County.

SCHEDULE.

MAKARA COUNTY.

Road classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 7 tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which when carrying a load has an axle weight of not more than 4½ tons on any one axle.

Wellington–Auckland via Taranaki Main Highway No. 1 (all that portion known as the Porirua Overbridge Deviation commencing at its junction with the Porirua–Titahi Bay Main Highway near the Porirua Public School, proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction and terminating at its junction with the former Wellington–Auckland via Taranaki Main Highway, a distance of approximately 18 chains).
