STAFF AND COMMANDS.

Colonel R. Miles, D.S.O., M.C., Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, on return from England, is appointed General Staff Officer (Staff Duties), Army Headquarters and Third Military Member of the Army Board, Wellington. Dated 13th May, 1939.

Lieutenant-Colonel F. G. Dill, E.D., The Auckland (East Coast) Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the Regiment. Dated 1st June, 1939.

Lieutenant-Colonel C. J. Pierce, M.C., E.D., The Waikato Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the Regiment. Dated 1st June, 1939.

Lieutenant-Colonel H. G. Carruth, E.D., The North Auckland Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the Regiment. Dated 1st June, 1939.

Major J. M. Allen, The Hauraki Regiment, is appointed to command the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st June, 1939.

Lieutenant-Colonel C. S. White, V.D., The North Auckland Regiment, is appointed to command the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st June, 1939.

Major E. M. Mackersey, The Waikato Regiment, is appointed to command the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st June, 1939.

Major H. G. Carruth, E.D., to be Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 1st June, 1939.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant T. J. Casling-Cottle, 21st Field Battery, resigns his commission. Dated 21st June, 1939.

CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) V. F. Connolly, 2nd Field Company, is confirmed.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).

Lieutenant L. J. Daley, 1st Battalion, to be Captain and Quartermaster. Dated 2nd July, 1939.

Lieutenant J. S. Matthews, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 2nd July, 1935, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 3rd July, 1939.

2nd Lieutenant P. M. Barclay, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Hauraki Regiment. Dated 5th July, 1939.

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.

Lieutenant E. W. Seville, 2nd Cadet Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 1st September, 1938.

2nd Lieutenant P. B. Allen, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st June, 1939.

2nd Lieutenant P. M. Barclay, from the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st January, 1937, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 5th July, 1939.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

Captain H. G. Dyer, 1st Cadet Battalion, to be Major. Dated 1st June, 1939.

Lieutenant R. L. Hains, from the Taranaki Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 28th August, 1938, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 7th July, 1939.

THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.

Lieutenant R. L. Hains, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington West Coast Regiment. Dated 7th July, 1939.

THE SOUTHLAND REGIMENT.

Major W. F. Tracy, M.C., Retired List, to be Major, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 10. Dated 1st May, 1939.
