  1. In lieu of provision being made for the repayment of the sum of twenty-four thousand pounds (£24,000) as specified in clause three of the said Order in Council of the twenty-first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, the said sum of twenty-four thousand pounds (£24,000) shall be repaid by the redemption of debentures of the amounts set out in the second column of the Schedule hereunder on the dates set out in the first column of the said Schedule.

Varying the Determinations in respect of Portion (£1,000) of the Invercargill City Council's Loan of £47,000.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of July, 1939.

Present :

His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the twenty-first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, and subject to the determinations as to borrowing and repayment therein set out, consent was given to the raising by the Invercargill City Council (hereinafter called "the said local authority") of the sum of forty-seven thousand pounds (£47,000) by a loan to be known as "Promotion of Employment Loan, 1938" (hereinafter called "the said loan"):

And whereas it is expedient to vary the determinations in respect of the sum of one thousand pounds (£1,000) (hereinafter called "the said sum") being a portion thereof:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby vary the determinations aforesaid in respect of the said sum by prescribing that in lieu of provision being made for the repayment of the said sum as specified in clause three of the said Order in Council the said sum shall be repaid by the redemption of debentures of the amounts set out in the second column of the Schedule hereunder on the dates set out in the first column of the Schedule.

Revoking in Part an Order in Council adding a Constituent District to, and making Provision for Representation on the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of July, 1939.

Present :

His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of every other power in anyway enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke in part the Order in Council dated the sixteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 37 of the twenty-fifth day of the same month, at page 1539, in so far as it makes provision for representation on the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board of the constituent district of portion of the County of Kawhia and in lieu thereof doth hereby determine that on and after the eighteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, the constituent district of portion of the County of Kawhia shall be entitled to one representative on the said Board and that such representative shall be in addition to the pre-existing number of eight members constituting the said Board, and, further, doth hereby appoint Wednesday, the eighteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, as the day on which shall be held the first election to the said Board of the representative of the constituent district of portion of the County of Kawhia.
