NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with the provisions of section 188 (4) of the Mining Act, 1926, as amended by section 18 of the Mining Amendment Act, 1937, that the mining privilege mentioned in the Schedule hereto has been struck off the register.

I HEREBY give notice that pursuant to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decisions in respect of applications for licenses were made on the 10th July, 1939.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Pharmacy Industry.
I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received from Messrs. E. W. Hall and Son, and Mr. R. B. Lake, for a license to operate a new pharmacy at 117 Armagh Street, Christchurch.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 27th July, 1939. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same and should include financial statements.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Manufacture of Dry Cell Batteries.
I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received from the Burgess Battery Company (N.Z.), Ltd., Auckland, for a license to engage in the industry of “the manufacture of batteries or cells, commonly known as dry cells.”
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing, so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 22nd July, 1939.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.
I HEREBY give notice that applications have been received from—
(1) W. W. Pearson for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from one petrol pump on premises at Kokonga.
(2) T. W. Hagen for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from one petrol pump to be installed at a store at Waikawa.
(3) W. McDicken for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from one petrol pump to be installed at a store at Waikokowai.
(4) G. H. Hunt for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from one petrol pump to be installed at his premises in Trig Road, Hobsonville.
(5) C. E. Stephenson for permission to transfer his service station of seven petrol pumps from Main Street to a new position on the corner of Main and Princess Streets, Palmerston North.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing, so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 27th July, 1939. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same, and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput of petrol sold, and the nature of the business conducted by the person making the representations.
