Varying the Determinations in respect of the Bay of Islands
County Council's Loan of £2,000.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of
June, 1939.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the twenty-
sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred
and thirty-eight, and subject to the determinations as to
borrowing and repayment therein set out, consent was given
to the raising in New Zealand by the Bay of Islands County
Council (hereinafter called "the said local authority") of the
sum of two thousand pounds (£2,000) by a loan to be known
as "Papatahi Water Supply Loan, 1938" (hereinafter called
"the said loan"):
And whereas the authority conferred by the said Order in
Council has not yet been exercised, and it is expedient to
vary certain of the determinations aforesaid in respect of
the said loan :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans
Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the
Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and
authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby vary
certain of the determinations aforesaid in respect of the said
loan by prescribing as follows:—
(1) In lieu of repayment as specified in clause three of
the said Order in Council the said loan shall be repaid as
follows:—
(a) By twenty equal payments of sixty-nine pounds
eighteen shillings and elevenpence (£69 18s. 11d.) one of such
payments to be made at the end of every half-year commencing
from the date on which the said loan is borrowed. Each
such half-yearly payment shall be applied firstly in payment
of interest computed at the rate of three pounds ten shillings
(£3 10s.) per centum per annum on the amount of the principal
for the time being outstanding at the beginning of each
half-year and the balance of such half-yearly payment
in reduction of principal.
(b) By a payment at the end of the tenth year from the
date of the borrowing of the said loan of a sum equal to the
amount to which the said principal has been reduced in
accordance with the preceding paragraph (a) hereof after
payment of the aforesaid twenty (20) half-yearly payments

Varying the Determinations in respect of the Timaru Harbour
Board's Loan of £242,000.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of
July, 1939.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the eighth
day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-
eight (hereinafter called "the said Order in Council"), and
subject to the determinations as to borrowing and repayment
therein set out, consent was given to the raising in New
Zealand by the Timaru Harbour Board (hereinafter called
"the said local authority") of the sum of two hundred and
forty-two thousand pounds (£242,000) by a loan to be known
as "Harbour Improvement Loan, 1938" (hereinafter called
"the said loan"):
And whereas by Orders in Council made on the twenty-
sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-
eight, and the seventeenth day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and thirty-eight, certain of the determinations
aforesaid were varied:
And whereas it is expedient again to vary the aforesaid
determinations :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government
Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of
the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and
authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby again
vary certain of the determinations by prescribing that in
lieu of a payment to the sinking fund on the thirtieth day
of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine,
of one thousand seven hundred and seventy pounds (£1,770)
as prescribed in clause (b) of the Order in Council of the
seventeenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred
and thirty-eight, the payment shall be one thousand one
hundred and twenty pounds (£1,120), and in lieu of payments
to the sinking fund of two thousand four hundred and twenty
pounds (£2,420) on the thirtieth day of September each
year thereafter up to and including the thirtieth day of
September, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-two, the
payments to such sinking fund shall be one thousand seven
hundred and seventy pounds (£1,770.)

Revocation of Order in Council declaring a Native to be a
European.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of
July, 1939.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section five hundred and twenty-five of
the Native Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke the Order in
Council made pursuant to section seventeen of the Native
Land Amendment Act, 1912, on the first day of February,
one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published
in the Gazette on the tenth day of February, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-one, at page 421, declaring Wiremu
Kouka of Tokomaru Bay to be a European.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the
three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the
Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby notify and declare that
Alfred Ernest Reynolds,
being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office
of Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, at Hamilton,
is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations
under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of
the Peace Act, 1927.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 4th day of July, 1939.
