PAHIATUA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926,
and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the
Pahiatua Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:-
"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment
of interest, principal, and other charges on the sum of
£1,200 to be borrowed in respect of the Pahiatua Borough
Council 'Footpaths, Bridges, and Borough Improvements
Loan of £3,000, 1938,' authorized to be raised by the
Pahiatua Borough Council under the above-mentioned
Act, for the purpose of constructing footpaths, kerbing,
and channelling, and concrete bridges within the Borough
of Pahiatua and other capital works, including the
harnessing of the springs on the Balfour Estate property,
the installing of a subsidiary pumping-plant and such
other works as are required to deliver the water from
the above-mentioned springs into the Borough water-
main, the said Pahiatua Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of thirty one-hundredths of
a penny (30/100d.) in the pound on the rateable value
(on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property in the Borough of Pahiatua and that such
rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the
currency of the said loan and shall be payable half-
yearly on the first day of November and the first day
of May in each and every year during the currency of
the said loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until
the loan is fully paid off."

CHANGE OF NAME OF COMPANY.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Poverty Bay Herald
Company, Limited, has changed its name to the
Gisborne Herald Company, Limited, and that the new name
was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place
of the former name.

APITI-POHANGINA RABBIT BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and
the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of every other power
it thereunto enabling, the Apiti-Pohangina Rabbit Board
hereby resolves as follows:-
"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment
of interest and sinking fund on the Apiti-Pohangina
Rabbit Board Worker's Dwelling Special Rating District
Loan of £900, duly authorized for the purpose of building
a worker's dwelling in the Township of Pohangina, the
said Board hereby makes a special rate of .502 pence
per acre on all rateable property in the said special
rating district, the said rate to be an annually recurring
rate during the currency of such loan and until the loan
is fully paid off."

meeting of the above-named company duly convened
and held on the 26th day of June, 1939, the following special
resolution was duly passed :-

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly
Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly
Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this
28th day of June, 1939, cancelled the registry of Star of the
South Rebekah Lodge, No. 69, of the Independent Order
of Odd Fellows of New Zealand, Friendly Society (Register
No. 146/237), held at Tahakopa, on the ground that the
said branch has ceased to exist.
