NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—NORTH-EAST COAST.
Rocks and Shoals between Taiharuru Point and Home Point.
(a) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 6 fathoms 3 feet exists in a position 1·48 miles 080° from a point in position 35° 43′·1 S., 174° 34′·2 E.
(b) A rock drying 3 feet exists in a position 0·9 miles 309° from the above point.
(c) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 6 fathoms exists in a position 1·40 miles 315° from the above point.
(d) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 5 fathoms exists in a position 1·60 miles 309° from the above point.
(e) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 3 fathoms exists in a position 1·76 miles 298½° from the above point.
(f) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 3 fathoms 5 feet exists in a position 0·49 miles 179½° from the southern extremity of Motutara Point. (35° 38′·5 S., 174° 32′·0 E.)
(g) The rock marked P.D. in position 35° 34′·8 S., 174° 32′·2 E., on chart No. 2525, exists in a position 0·59 miles 092° from the northern extremity of the south side of Sandy Bay. (35° 34′·7 S., 174° 31′·0 E.)
(h) A rock awash at low-water springs exists in a position 1·30 miles 270° from Home Point. (35° 20′·0 S., 174° 23′·0 E.)
(i) A rock with a least depth of 2 fathoms 3 feet exists in a position 2·30 miles 284° from the above point.
(k) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 8 fathoms 5 feet exists in a position 0·58 miles 293½° from South Head, Whangaruru Bay. (35° 27′ S., 174° 26′ E.)

(1) Rocks and shoals off entrance to Whangaruru Harbour.
(2) Depths off Bland Rocks.
(3) Buoy non-existent.
(1) Position: Henry Island.—Lat. 35° 24′·0 S.; long. 174° 22′·5 E. (approx.).
(a) Depths of 4½ fathoms extend for a distance of 1¾ cables northward of Henry Island.
(b) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 3¾ fathoms exists in a position 2·1 cables 003° from the north-eastern extremity of Henry Island.
(c) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 5¾ fathoms exists in a position 3·3 cables 111° from the above point.
(d) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 4¾ fathoms exists in a position 3 cables 171° from the above point.
(2) Position: Bland Rocks, lat. 35° 24′·7 S.; long. 174° 21′·4 E. (approx.).
Details: Depths of 2½ fathoms extend to a distance of 1·5 cables in an 037° direction from the eastern extremity of Bland Rocks.
(3) Position: Whangaruru Harbour.
Details: The red buoy marking Hongaio Rock no longer exists.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—AUCKLAND APPROACH.
Alteration in Buoys.
(1) Position: 289½° 6.92 cables from Rangitoto Beacon. Lat. 36° 46′·7 S.; long., 174° 48′·5 E. (approx.).
Details: The lighted buoy on the north-western corner of Duder Spit will be moved to the above position on the 17th instant.
(2) Position: North-western corner of Duder Spit. The lighted buoy will be replaced by an unlighted black can-buoy.

Notice to Mariners No. 37 of 1939.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—NORTH-EAST COAST.
Rocks and Shoals and General Information.
(a) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 6 fathoms 4 feet exists in position 0·63 miles 279° from the northern extremity of the south-eastern point of Whangamumu Harbour.
(b) A rock with less than 6 feet of water over it at low-water springs exists in position 0·8 cables eastward of the islet in position 35° 14′·1 S., 174° 19′·2 E.
(c) A rock drying 3 feet at low-water exists in position 0·05 miles 144° from the point in latitude 35° 12′·0 S., 174° 19′·9 E.
(d) A rock with less than 6 feet of water over it at low-water springs exists in position 0·31 miles 008½° from islet 2 feet high (35° 11′·6 S., 174° 20′·2 E.) The height of this islet should be 12 feet instead of 2 feet.
(e) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 4 fathoms 2 feet exists in position 0·22 miles 276° from the northern extremity of Cape Brett (35° 10′·2 S., 174° 19′·5 E.)
(f) The 7 fathoms reported, 1928, in position 35° 09′·8 S., 174° 18′·0 E., exists in position 0·1 miles 312° from Bird Rock and has a least depth of 7 fathoms 1 foot.
(g) The lighthouse, coast-line, and islands in the vicinity of Cape Brett are inaccurately charted and are relatively incorrect.
(h) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 10 fathoms exists in position 0·88 miles 308° from Red Head Beacon (35° 11′·7 S., 174° 12′·6 E.)
(i) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 4 fathoms 4 feet exists in position 0·52 miles 318° from the above beacon.
(j) A rocky shoal with a least depth of 4 feet exists in a position 1·72 cables 309° from the end of Opua Wharf, Port Russell. A red cask-buoy is moored in a position 1·65 cables 317° from the end of Opua Wharf.
