Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area.
PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, I, William Lee Martin, acting for the Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto are desirous that such area should be declared to be a pool area for the marketing of bobby calves, do hereby declare such area of land, defined as aforesaid, to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area for the purposes of the said regulations under the name set out in the said Schedule, and I do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect on the 6th day of July, 1939.
SCHEDULE.
LEVIN BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA.
ALL that area of land lying entirely within the Horowhenua County, and bounded on the south by the Ohau River, commencing at a point where the river enters the sea, and following the northern bank of the river until it reaches the Tararua Ranges; thence along the Tararua Ranges in a northerly direction as far north as the top of Law’s Hill, situated on the Main Highway; thence in a straight line in a westerly direction to the Koputaroa Railway-station, continuing in a westerly direction to the Whirokino Bridge on the Main Highway; and thence following the southern bank of the Manawatu River to the sea, and from this point along the sea-coast to the original point of commencement.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XII, Greymouth Survey District for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Greymouth and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken : 1·86 perches.
Being portion of Section 2770.
Situated in Block XII, Greymouth Survey District (Westland R.D.). (S.O. 3412.)
In the Westland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 98616, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

The Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendments.—Fixing the Closing-hours of Grocers’ Shops within the Town District of Helensville.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the grocers’ shops within the Town District of Helensville, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops within the said Town District be closed in the evening of working-days as follows :—
On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 5 p.m. and on Fridays at 9 p.m., except that when Friday is generally observed as a holiday any shop which is closed for the whole of that day may remain open until 9 p.m. on the Thursday immediately preceding such Friday.
And whereas I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said Town District :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 24th day of July, 1939, all the said shops within the said Town District shall be closed accordingly.
