Lieutenant L. W. Thornton, Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Artillery Instructor, Central Military District, and is appointed Adjutant, 2nd Heavy Artillery Group. Dated 27th April, 1939.

Lieutenant A. J. Young, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Area Officer, No. 5 Area, Wellington, and is appointed Instructor, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 1st June, 1939.

Lieutenant D. Curtis, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Instructor, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham, and is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 5 Area, Wellington. Dated 1st June, 1939.

Captain (temp. Major) L. P. Davies, O.B.E., N.Z. Dental Corps, is appointed Deputy Director of Dental Services, Army Headquarters, in addition to his appointment as Assistant Director of Dental Services, Central Military District. Dated 9th May, 1939.

Lieutenant-Colonel R. Tilsley, M.C., D.C.M., E.D., The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), relinquishes command of the 1st Battalion and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 1. Dated 23rd June, 1939.

Lieutenant-Colonel J. R. Gray, The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), is appointed to command the 1st Battalion. Dated 24th June, 1939.

THE OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.

The undermentioned Lieutenants are transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b). Dated 19th June, 1939:—

THE WELLINGTON EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant D. F. Anderson, The Canterbury Regiment, is attached under the provisions of paragraph 141, General Regulations, 1921. Dated 26th June, 1939.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

The notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 32, dated 11th May, 1939, relative to Captain C. A. N. Pilcher, is hereby cancelled and the following substituted:—
“Captain C. A. N. Pilcher, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, with seniority from 21st July, 1937, and is attached to Headquarters, 1st Artillery Brigade Group. Dated 1st June, 1938.”

Lieutenant L. A. Sutcliffe ceases to be posted to the 17th Medium Battery and is posted to the 4th Field Battery. Dated 7th June, 1939.

CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.

Lieutenant R. C. Pemberton ceases to be posted to the 3rd Field Company and is posted to the 2nd Field Company. Dated 27th June, 1939.

Leslie George Loveridge, A.M.(N.Z.)I.E., A.M.I.Struct.E., to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 3rd Field Company. Dated 20th June, 1939.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).

Major J. R. Gray, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 24th June, 1939.

Captain R. Jones, from the Hauraki Regiment, to be Captain, with seniority from 29th June, 1935, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 15th June, 1939.

Christopher James Vallance to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 4th Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st June, 1939.

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.

Captain R. Jones, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own). Dated 15th June, 1939.

Alfred Robert Gough to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st July, 1939.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT (CITY OF WELLINGTON’S OWN).

Lieutenant L. A. C. Warner, 2nd Cadet Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 12th June, 1939.

Richard Bertrand Burko to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 7th March, 1939.

THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.

Lieutenant N. G. Crossman, from the Taranaki Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 2nd September, 1936, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 16th June, 1939.

THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.

Lieutenant N. G. Crossman, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Dated 16th June, 1939.

THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

Captain H. A. H. Insull ceases to be posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion and is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 21st June, 1939.

William Ross Lascelles (late Captain, New Zealand Expeditionary Force) to be Captain, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 10. Dated 1st May, 1939.

2nd Lieutenant J. K. Collins, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 4th December, 1938.

2nd Lieutenant D. F. Anderson ceases to be posted to the 1st Battalion and is attached to the Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles. Dated 26th June, 1939.

THE NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, AND WEST COAST REGIMENT.

Captain R. P. K. Kania, 2nd Cadet Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 9. Dated 23rd June, 1939.

Lieutenant W. B. Hutton, 2nd Cadet Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), Area 9. Dated 23rd June, 1939.

Arthur Hamilton Crisp Cavell (late 2nd Lieutenant, New Zealand Expeditionary Force) to be Lieutenant and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), Area 10. Dated 1st May, 1939.

THE SOUTHLAND REGIMENT.

Captain I. O. Manson, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, with seniority from 28th February, 1938, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 15th June, 1939.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) J. A. C. Macartney, 1st Cadet Battalion, is confirmed.

2nd Lieutenant J. A. C. Macartney, 1st Cadet Battalion to be Lieutenant. Dated 24th June, 1939.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

Major M. B. M. Tweed, M.R.C.S. Eng., L.R.C.P. Lond., is attached to the 5th Field Battery, N.Z.A. Dated 17th May, 1939.

Major W. F. Shire, M.B., is attached to the 17th Heavy Battery, N.Z.A. Dated 17th May, 1939.

Major R. Welton-Hogg, M.C., M.B., is attached to the 2nd Composite Company, N.Z. Army Service Corps. Dated 17th May, 1939.

Major A. A. Tennent, M.B., ceases to be posted to the 2nd Field Ambulance. Dated 8th June, 1939.

Captain W. J. Hope-Robertson, M.B., ceases to be attached to the 17th Medium Battery, N.Z.A., and is seconded to the Royal N.Z. Air Force. Dated 8th June, 1939.

Lieutenant A. N. Slater, M.B., ceases to be attached to the 2nd Composite Company, N.Z. Army Service Corps, and is attached to the 1st Battalion, The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own). Dated 17th May, 1939.
