Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, 28th June, 1939.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Friday, 11th August, 1939.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 16th August, 1939, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hobson County.—Tatarariki Parish.
ALLOTMENT 48A: Area, 6 acres l rood 33 perches. Capital value, £10. Deposit on deferred payments, £1. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, 5s. 11d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 4s.
Weighted with £4 10s. (payable in cash), for improvements, comprising 12 chains boundary fencing.
Situated on the Tatarariki - Redhill Road, two miles from Te Kopuru by metalled road, this section comprises undulating hill country covered in manuka with scattered pines, wattle, taupaki, and gorse. Soil is sandy pipeclay resting on sandstone formation; devoid of water. Altitude 25 ft. to 50 ft. above sea-level. Suitable for a home-site for a man with outside employment.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section will be offered for sale for cash by public auction at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 15th August, 1939, at 2.30 o'clock p.m., under the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Otamatea County.—Hukatere Survey District.
SECTION 6, Block III : Area, 1 acre 1 rood 13 perches. Upset price, £35.*
*Upset price includes the value of improvements, comprising grassing, 16 chains of fencing, orchard, and plantation.
This section is situated in the Wakapirau Township, handy to the post-office, store, and wharf. Pahi Township is approximately a quarter of a mile distant on the opposite side of the Pahi River. The section is situated on a high knoll overlooking the inlet and surrounding country and would be ideally suitable for a retired person as a residential-site. Access is from Maungaturoto or Paparoa which are about seven miles distant by metalled road. The section comprises practically level land in rough grass with a number of shelter-trees of fair age. Soil is of black loam clay resting on hydraulic limestone.

Land in Nelson Land District for Lease by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, 26th June, 1939.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section in the Westport Colliery Reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Wednesday, 9th August, 1939, at 11 o'clock a.m., under the provisions of the Westland and Nelson Coalfields Administration Amendment Act, 1926, and the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.
The term of the lease will be twenty-one years with a perpetual right of renewal at revaluation at the end of each successive term of twenty-one years.
A half-year's rent at the rate offered, broken-period rent, and lease fee payable in cash on the fall of the hammer.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.
Westport Borough.—Town of Westport.
SECTION 810 (Westport Colliery Reserve): Area, 32·6 perches. Upset annual rent, £1 12s.
This is a flat building-site in the Town of Westport and fronts Peel, Balfour, and Salisbury Streets.
The section is described for the general information of intending bidders, who are recommended, nevertheless, to make a personal inspection, as the Department is not responsible for the absolute accuracy of any description.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 8th August, 1939, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

These sections, which are suitable for building purposes, are situated in the Borough of Geraldine on the corner of Wilson and Lewis Streets, about a quarter of a mile from the post-office and the school.
