Notice of Intention to take Additional Land in Block VI, East Taieri Survey District, for the Purposes of an Aerodrome.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of an aerodrome. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Mosgiel and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

Classification of Roads in Southland County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve of the Main Highways Board’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Southland County.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND COUNTY.

ROADS classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 7 tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which when carrying a load has an axle weight of not more than 4½ tons on any one axle.

Queenstown-Invercargill Main Highway No. 229 (all that portion from the southern boundary of Lumsden Town District to Dipton; also all that portion commencing at its junction with the Queenstown-Invercargill State Highway approximately one mile north of Locheil and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction by way of Wilsons Crossing, Locheil Road, and terminating at its junction with the Makarewa-Browns-Linchills Main Highway).

Wigram Aerodrome.

In the matter of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1935, and in the matter of the Wigram Aerodrome situate at Sockburn in the Provincial District of Canterbury.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1935, I, Robert Semple, the Minister of Public Works, do hereby give notice, for the purpose of making the Wigram Aerodrome safe for aviation purposes:—

  1. That I prohibit absolutely the erection, placing, or extension without my consent of any building, pole, mast, or other structure of any kind on the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and

  2. That I prohibit the erection, placing, or extension without my consent of any building, pole, mast, or other structure of any kind on the land described in the Second Schedule hereto beyond the respective heights following, that is to say:—

(a) In the case of any building, pole, mast, or other structure upon the boundary of the said aerodrome, a height of five feet above the ground level of the said boundary.

(b) In the case of any building, pole, mast, or other structure upon any other part of the land described in the said Second Schedule, a height of five feet above the ground level of the nearest point of the boundary of the said aerodrome increased by one-twentieth of the distance measured on a horizontal plane between such nearest point and the building, pole, mast, or other structure in question.

  1. That I limit the height to which trees may be grown on the land described in the said Second Schedule to the respective heights beyond which the erection, placing, or extension without my consent of any building, pole, mast, or other structure is prohibited by the last preceding clause hereof.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land containing approximately 47 acres 29 perches, being Rural Sections 1237 and 1237X, Block XIV, Christchurch Survey District, comprised and described in certificates of title, Vol. 12, folio 250, and Vol. 186, folio 171, Canterbury Registry, such land being shown by a red border on the plan marked P.W.D. 103321, deposited in my office at Wellington.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land containing approximately 10 acres 29 perches, being Reserve 106, Block XIV, Christchurch Survey District, comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 233, folio 262, Canterbury Registry, such land being shown by a yellow border on the plan marked P.W.D. 103321, deposited in my office at Wellington.

Dated at Wellington, this 27th day of June, 1939.
