SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Rangiora County.—Mairaki Survey District.
RESERVES 1739 and 1740, Blocks III, IV, VII, and VIII :
Area, 102 acres 3 roods 37 perches. Capital value, £1,030.
Deposit on deferred payments, £30. Half-yearly instalment
on deferred payments, £32 10s. Renewable lease: Half-
yearly rent, £20 12s.
Weighted with £40 (to be paid in cash) for improvements,
comprising 115 chains of boundary and subdivisional fencing.
This property lies on either side of Kennedys Road and is
distant about six miles from Cust Railway-station by good
road. The land comprises easy to steep undulating country
of a cold clay nature, suitable for sheep grazing and the
cultivation of sheep feed, turnips, and rape. The area is
not self-supporting and is only suitable to be worked in with
adjoining properties.

Land in Otago Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.
District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on optional tenures under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o'clock
p.m. on Monday, 10th July, 1939.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday,
12th July, 1939, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant
is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land
Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when
examined documentary evidence of their financial position,
such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from
managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms,
or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial
assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should
state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply
guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of
the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant
is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit
comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period
rent, and lease fee.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Clutha County.—Woodlands Survey District.
SECTION 32, Block X : Area, 95 acres 2 roods. Capital value,
£50. Deposit on deferred payments, £5. Half-yearly instal-
ment on deferred payments, £1 9s. 3d. Renewable lease:
Half-yearly rent, £1.
This section is situated approximately five miles from
Ratanui Post-office and School, seven miles from Ratanui
Railway-station and ten miles from Owaka Saleyards. Access
is by formed and metalled road. The section comprises
undulating land, broken in places, the soil being a light loam
on part clay and part rock bottom; watered by creeks.
The area is in mixed bush.

Lease.

is open for selection on renewable lease; and applica-
tions will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office,
Invercargill, up to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 11th July, 1939.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, on Thurs-
day, 13th July, 1939, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant
is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land
Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Wallace County.—Jacobs River Hundred.—Otago Mining
District.
SECTIONS 35, 36, 38, 39, and 40, Block XVIII: Area, 88 acres
l rood 15 perches. Capital value, £90; half-yearly rent,
£1 16s.
(Sections 35, 36, and 38 are Crown land and Sections 39 and
40 are national-endowment land.)
Weighted with £155 (to be paid in cash) for improvements.
Situated one mile and a half from Colac Post-office by good
gravelled road. Land is level to slightly undulating, soil
loam on clay formation. The sections were originally very
wet bush-land but are now partly drained by a channel.
About 40 acres still in stunted bush, balance in fern and
rushes with patches of rough pasture.
