Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under
Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.

I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from petrol pumps to be installed at the Good Shepherd Home, Waikowhai, Auckland.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing, so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 20th June, 1939. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same, and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput of petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by the person making the representations.

(2) S. H. Julian, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from one petrol pump already installed on premises in Broadwood.
(3) Keogh Bros., for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from two petrol pumps to be installed at a proposed new service station in Shetland Street, Roslyn, Dunedin.
(4) Dalgety and Co., Ltd., for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from two petrol pumps to be installed at premises in Dixon Street, Masterton.

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Joseph William Hinchev, of the Public Trust Office, Timaru, to be Deputy of the District Public Trustee, Timaru, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous warrants appointing any Deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Town Lands in Westland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, 8th June, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 17th July, 1939.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, on Wednesday, 19th July, 1939, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

NOTE.—These lands are offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessees, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

SCHEDULE.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LANDS.
Grey County.—Mawheranui Survey District.—Westland Mining District.

Section 2: Area, 3 roods 15·1 perches. Capital value, £20 ; half-yearly rent, 10s.
Section 3: Area, 3 roods 20·7 perches. Capital value £25 ; half-yearly rent, 12s. 6d.
Section 5 : Area, 3 roods 26·4 perches. Capital value, £25 ; half-yearly rent, 12s. 6d.

These sections are situated in the Town of Red Jacks within 5 chains of the Greymouth-Reefton State Highway, and half a mile from Ngahere Post and Telegraph Office and School, and thirteen miles from Town of Greymouth. The sections are suitable for residential purposes.

Any further information required may be obtained from the undersigned.

District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, 8th June, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to noon of Monday, 10th July, 1939.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 11th July, 1939, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements.
