Appointment of Issuing Officers for the Purpose of issuing Licenses to take or kill Opossums in the Rotorua Acclimatization District.

PURSUANT to the provisions of Condition No. 3 included under the heading “Rotorua Acclimatization District” in the Order in Council dated the 10th day of May, 1939, made under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 32 of the 11th day of May, 1939, at page 1445, declaring open seasons for the taking or killing of opossums in the acclimatization districts specified in such Order in Council, I, Joseph William Allen Heenan, Under-Secretary of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint—

The Conservator of Fish and Game, Rotorua,
Ranger G. G. Potts, Taupo,
Ranger H. Frame, Tuai, Hawke’s Bay,
The Manager, Lake House, Waikaremoana,
The Postmaster, Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay,
The Postmaster, Tuai,

to be issuing officers for the purpose of issuing licenses to take or kill opossums in the Rotorua Acclimatization District under and subject to the general conditions set forth in the said Order in Council and the special conditions set forth under the heading “Rotorua Acclimatization District.”

Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area.

——

PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto are desirous that such area should be declared to be a pool area for the marketing of bobby calves, do hereby declare such area of land defined as aforesaid to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area for the purposes of the said regulations under the name set out in the said Schedule, and I do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect on the 1st day of June, 1939.

SCHEDULE.

TE KOWHAI BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA.

ALL that area of land lying within the Waipa County and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the road from Whatawhata to Te Kowhai where Blackett’s Road branches off in a westerly direction; thence taking a line direct west to the Waipa River; thence following the course of the said river in its northerly flow to a point where a direct line east crosses through the middle of the area marked “Subs. of Newcastle South” to the main south road from Ngaruawahia to Hamilton; thence following the said main road in a south-easterly direction to the southern boundary of the Horotiu Freezing Works property; thence south-west along the road from Horotiu to Te Kowhai to the railway-line; thence in a north-easterly direction along the said railway-line to Newton Hall; thence south-east to Grand View Road; thence along the length of the last-mentioned road; thence north-west along the road joining up with the road from Newton Hall via Rotokauri to Whatawhata; thence along the last-mentioned road to the point where Gould’s Road branches off in a southerly direction; thence along the last-mentioned road to a point where the first road turns north-west and thence in the same direction to the commencing point, including in the area all the farms on the south side of the roads which are the southern boundary of the area.
