NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting held
in Gisborne on the 20th April, 1939, the following
extraordinary resolution was carried:—

“That as the company cannot by reason of its liabilities
continue its business, that the affairs of the company be
wound up, and in conformity with clause 234 (1) of the
Companies Act, 1933, a meeting of creditors of the company
will be held in the Selvyn Hall, 98 Derby Street, Gisborne, on
Friday, the 28th April, 1939, at 10 a.m.”

WESTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Westport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £5,500 authorized to be raised by
the Westport Borough Council under the above-mentioned
Act, for the purpose of erecting a town hall and municipal
offices, and furnishing same, and to purchase section 1003,
Palmerston Street, Westport, adjoining the present town
hall site; the said Westport Borough Council hereby increases
the special rate of three farthings (¾d.) in the pound made
and levied on the 16th day of November, 1938, to one and
seven-sixteenths pence (1⅞d.) in the pound upon the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property of the Borough of Westport, comprising the whole
of the Borough of Westport, and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan and payable yearly on the 1st day of November in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Dated at Westport, this 6th day of April, 1939.

Westport Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose of completing the tar-sealing of streets and
footpaths within the borough the said Westport Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three
farthings (¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the
basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of
the Borough of Westport, comprising the whole of the
Borough of Westport, and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and
payable yearly on the 15th day of April in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten
years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NELSON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Nelson City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, and other charges on a loan of £87,200 to be known
as ‘The Electric Light and Antecedent Liability Renewal
Loan, 1939,’ authorized to be raised by the Nelson City
Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of
redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of a loan of
£80,000 which matures on the 1st day of May, 1939, and for
providing exchange thereon, the said Nelson City Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of eightpence and
one-half penny in the pound upon the rateable value (based
on the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of
Nelson, comprising the whole of the City of Nelson, and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 24th
day of July in each and every year during the currency of
such loan being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is
fully paid off.”

NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

ROLL OF HONOUR published by the DEFENCE
DEPARTMENT, giving—

(1) A list of members of the New Zealand Expeditionary
Forces killed in action, died of wounds inflicted,
of accidents occurring, or disease contracted while
on active service.

(2) Those who died after discharge from the New Zealand
Expeditionary Force from wounds inflicted or
disease contracted while on active service.

(3) Those who died from accident occurring or disease
contracted while training with or attached to the
New Zealand Expeditionary Forces of New Zealand.

increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or
part thereof; postage, 1d.

Supplementary and Extraordinary Gazettes: For the
first 8 pages, 6d.; over 8 pages and not exceeding
32 pages, 9d.; increasing by 3d. for every subsequent
16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line
for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any
subsequent insertions.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening
of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by
the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the day preceding
publication.
