NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 17th day of April, 1939, cancelled the registry of Broadwood Lodge, No. 103, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand, Friendly Society (Register No. 146/144), held at Broadwood, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Housing Loan (1939), £4,175.

In pursuance of exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of four thousand one hundred and seventy-five pounds (£4,175), authorized to be raised by the Lower Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the acquisition of land and the erection of workers' dwellings thereon and for such other purposes as are permitted by Part XXVII of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the said Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirty six-hundred-and-sixty-sixths (30/666ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Lower Hutt, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan for a period not exceeding twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off."

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the shareholders of Pyradent Pty. (N.Z.), Ltd. (in Liquidation) will be held at the office of the liquidator, Grey Buildings, Courthouse Lane, Auckland, on 8th May, 1939, at 10.30 a.m. Immediately following this meeting, a meeting of the creditors of the company will be held on the same day and at the same place at 10.45 a.m.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of E. ASTLEY AND SONS, LIMITED, a duly incorporated company having its registered office at Auckland.

NOTICE is hereby given that the order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Northern District (Auckland Registry), dated the 19th day of April, 1939, confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-named company from £60,000 to £42,000 and the minute (approved by the Court) showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the particulars required by the above statute were registered by the Assistant Registrar of Companies at Auckland, on the 21st day of April, 1939; and take further notice that the minute above mentioned is in the words and figures following:

"The capital of E. Astley and Sons, Limited, is £42,000, divided into 60,000 shares of 14s. each, instead of 60,000 shares of £1 each. At the date of the registration of this minute 49,743 shares have been issued and have been and and are to be deemed to be fully paid up. The remaining 10,257 shares are unissued"
