Deputy Registrars of Marriages, &c., appointed.

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service:-

Richard Lane Halke, to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Opotiki, as from the 12th day of April, 1939.

John Mokonuiarangi Bennett, to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Whareponga, as from the 20th day of March, 1939.

Charles William Constable Metge, to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Whareponga, as from the 3rd day of April, 1939.

Henry Squire Haydon, to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Waikerei, as from the 13th day of March, 1939.

Victor Storey Pickens, to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Te Kapua, as from the 27th day of March, 1939.

Anthony Roy Tucker, to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Porangahau, as from the 4th day of April, 1939.

Alexander Wallace Swap, to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Te Awamutu, as from the 11th day of April, 1939.

Harold Vincent Jerred, to be Clerk of the Magistrates’ Courts at Auckland and Otahuhu for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the 1st day of April, 1939.

William David Armit, to be Land Purchase Inspector for the purposes of section 2 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1927, as from the 1st day of May, 1939.

Election of Members of the Matatoki Bobby Calf Pool Committee.

NOTICE has been received under the hand of the Chairman of the Matatoki Bobby Calf Committee established by the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations, 1939, that Selwyn Eugene Hall, John Kenneth Dean, Robert Frisken, Harold Scott, Walton Smith, Charles Gray, and Ernest Clark have been duly elected to be members of the said committee pursuant to the provisions in that behalf of the said regulations.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries.—City of Christchurch.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 20th April, 1939.

It is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Waimairi and included in the City of Christchurch.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

Area Proposed to be Excluded from County of Waimairi and Included in the City of Christchurch.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the south-western side of Shirley Road and the western side of Hills Road at a point on the present boundary of the City of Christchurch; thence proceeding northerly across Shirley Road along the western side of Hills Road aforesaid, to the northern boundary of part Lot 1 on plan 8784, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Christchurch; thence along the northern, western, and southern boundaries of the said part Lot 1, plan 8784, to the centre of Dudley Creek; thence south-westerly generally along the centre of that creek to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 1, plan 9658, deposited as aforesaid; thence along the north-western boundaries of Lot 34 and the said Lot 1, plan 9658, to and across Shirley Road to the said city boundary; thence south-easterly along that boundary to the point of commencement.
