HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 14.

Summit Highway.—All that road or portion of road in the Heathcote, Halswell, and Mount Herbert Counties, commencing at its junction with the Christchurch—Governor’s Bay via Dyer’s Pass Main Highway, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly and southerly direction and terminating at its junction with the Motukarara—Teddington Main Highway, being a distance of 8 miles 40 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 102349, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Christchurch—Lyttelton (via Sumner).—All that portion of road, commencing at its junction with the Christchurch—Lyttelton (via Sumner) Main Highway at the western end of McCormack’s Bay, in Block XVI, Christchurch Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly direction and terminating at its junction with the Christchurch—Lyttelton (via Sumner) Main Highway at the eastern end of McCormack’s Bay, in Block II, Sumner Survey District, being a distance of 55 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 102413, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

McCormack’s Bay Highway.—All that portion of road in the Heathcote County and Sumner Borough, commencing at the western end of McCormack’s Bay causeway and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly then north-easterly direction and terminating at the eastern end of McCormack’s Bay causeway, being a distance of 80 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 102413, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 15.

Christchurch—Dunedin.—All that road or portion of road in the Ashburton and Geraldine Counties, commencing at its junction with the Christchurch—Dunedin Main Highway in Block VI, Hinds Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly and southerly direction and terminating at its junction with the Christchurch—Dunedin Main Highway at Winchester, in Block XIV, Geraldine Survey District, being a distance of 20 miles 5 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 102228, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Rangitata—Geraldine.—All that road in the Geraldine County known as Cain’s Road, commencing at the junction of Mellish Street and Francis Street, in the Township of South Rangitata, and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction by way of Rangitata Station and Cooper’s Creek Road, thence in a westerly direction by way of Newson’s Road and terminating at its junction with the Christchurch—Dunedin Main Highway, near the bridge over the Orari River, in Block II, Geraldine Survey District, being a distance of 5 miles 72 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 102228, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 16.

Queensbury—Pembroke.—All that road or portion of road in the Vincent and Lake Counties, commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 13, Block IX, Tarras Survey District, and proceeding thence in a northerly and north-westerly direction through Blocks VIII and VI, Tarras Survey District, thence through Block VIII, Lower Hawea Survey District, and Blocks II, I, and III, Lower Wanaka Survey District, and terminating at its junction with the Timaru—Queenstown via Tekapo and Lindis Pass Main Highway, being a distance of 16 miles 1 chain, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 102399, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Pembroke—Haast.—All that road or portion of road in the Lake and Vincent Counties, commencing at its junction with the Timaru—Queenstown via Tekapo and Lindis Pass Main Highway, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction and terminating opposite the western boundary of Section 3, Block V, Lower Wanaka Survey District, being a distance of 5 miles 65 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 102399, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, marked A—B thereon, and coloured black.

Also all that road or portion of road in the Vincent County, commencing opposite the western boundary of Section 3, Block V, Lower Wanaka Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction by way of the Hawea—Makarora Road, passing generally along the western side of Lake Hawea to the Neck Lagoon, thence generally along the eastern side of Lake Wanaka and terminating near the Makarora Homestead, opposite the north-eastern boundary of Section 34795, McKerrow Survey District, being a distance of 33 miles, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 88722, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Luggate—Hawea.—All that road or portion of road in the Vincent County, commencing opposite the western boundary of Section 3, Block V, Lower Wanaka Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly, southerly, and south-westerly direction and terminating at its junction with the Luggate—Pembroke Road, being a distance of 10 miles 45 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 102399, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, marked B—C—E, thereon, and coloured black.

Setting apart Native Land as a Native Reservation.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of April, 1939.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section five of the Native Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby set apart and reserve the Native freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Native reservation for the common use of the Natives of the Ngati-Hinemaru and Ngati-Paki hapus as a meeting-place, burial-ground, and church-site.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of April, 1939.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 167 of the Native Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby vary an Order in Council made on the fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and published in the Gazette on the seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, at page 735, and affecting Haururu East B 2, Section 2A 1a and other blocks, by excluding therefrom the land described in the Schedule hereto.
