NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and their respective amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for waterworks purposes at Robieson Street, Mount Victoria, in the City of Wellington—and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said City, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or the taking of such land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land set forth the same in writing and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Wellington City Council addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

OPUNAKE ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

£10,000 Reticulation Loan, 1938.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other Acts and authorities it thereunto enabling, the Opunake Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000, authorized to be raised by the Opunake Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of further extending reticulation in the Board's district, the said Opunake Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Opunake Electric-power District as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the New Zealand Gazette (No. 77), on the 9th day of August, 1921, and added to by Proclamation dated 12th March, 1925, and published in the New Zealand Gazette (No. 19), of the 19th day of March, 1925, comprising the whole of the County of Egmont and the whole of the Borough of Opunake, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING CHARGE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Legislation Act, 1936, section 7, and the Local Legislation Act, 1937, section 2, the Hutt County Council resolves as follows:—

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000 authorized to be raised by the Hutt County Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of constructing a new road from Raumati Road to the Esplanade, including payment of legal costs, compensation, engineering and survey fees, also a connecting road to Renown Road, the said Hutt County Council hereby makes and levies a charge of £394 5s. in respect of Allotments 9 to 23, both inclusive, Allotments 25 to 41, both inclusive, Allotments 44 to 70, both inclusive, in Block 2 on Deposited Plan number 2397, and Allotments 1 to 7, both inclusive, Allotments 10 to 26, both inclusive, on Deposited Plan number 5853, which said allotments are part of the County of Hutt, such charge to be apportioned equally amongst such allotments and in the case of subdivisions of any of such allotments the proportionate part of the charge payable in respect of any allotments so subdivided shall be apportioned between the subdivisional parts of the allotment as the Council may deem just and equitable; and that such charge shall be an annual-recurring charge and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
