Ending of Period of Summer Time.

Wellington, 12th April, 1939.

IT is hereby notified for general information that under the Summer Time Act, 1929, and Summer Time Amendment Act, 1933, summer time which commenced at two o'clock in the morning of Sunday, the 25th September, 1938, ends at two o'clock New Zealand standard time, in the morning of Sunday, the 30th April, 1939.

The time will, therefore, be put back thirty minutes as from 2 a.m. New Zealand standard time, on Sunday, the 30th April, 1939.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of Lake County, taken on the 11th day of May, 1938, on the proposal to raise a bridging loan of £4,500, the number of votes recorded was as follows:

Election of Members of Fire Boards by Insurance Companies.

Wellington, 18th April, 1939.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, the Fire Brigades Amendment Act, 1932, and the rules made thereunder, it is hereby notified that an election by the insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand of members of the undermentioned Fire Boards will be held on Monday, the 22nd day of May, 1939, in the manner prescribed by the said Acts and rules. The number of members to be elected in the case of the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board and of the Dunedin Metropolitan Fire Board shall be four. In the case of Wanganui, Wellington, and Christchurch Fire Boards the number shall be three, and in all others two members:

Notification of Approval of Rules, Auckland Acclimatization Society.

Approval of Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers' Regulations, 1931.

IN terms of regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers' Regulations, 1931, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block I, Takahue Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kaitaia and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 2 acres 1 rood 30 perches.

Being portion of O.L.C. 159.

Situated in Block I, Takahue Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 27715.)

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 101911, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
