Multi-axled Heavy Motor-vehicle under the Heavy Motor-
vehicle Regulations, 1932.
THE Minister of Transport does hereby approve as a
multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle under the Heavy
Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, any heavy motor-vehicle
of the class or type described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
Five-axled motor-vehicle described as a Thornycroft
“Tartar” type rigid six-wheeler with a tandem axle
Abingdon Trailer, when conforming with the respective
plan which is numbered 635 and is deposited in the offices
of the Transport Department, Wellington.

Date of Election by Fire-Insurance Companies to fill Extra-
ordinary Vacancies on the Balclutha, Kaitangata, and Milton
Fire Boards.

Wellington, 13th January, 1939.
PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the
rules thereunder, the Minister charged for the time
being with the administration of the said Act, doth hereby
appoint Friday, the 27th day of January, 1939, to be the
date for holding the election of one member of each of the
Balclutha, Kaitangata, and Milton Fire Boards by the fire-
insurance companies concerned, such election being held
to fill the extraordinary vacancies caused by the resignation
of Mr. H. V. Lawry from the said Boards.

The Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendments.—
Prohibiting the sale within the City of Dunedin of Certain
Goods comprised in the Trade of a Seedsman.
WHEREAS a petition in writing, signed by a majority
of the occupiers of all the seedsman’s shops within
the City of Dunedin, has been forwarded to me desiring that
the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a seeds-
man—namely, seeds (vegetable and flower), plants (other
than pot plants), shrubs, garden manures, and garden sprays—
be prohibited during such time as the shops in such trade
are required to be closed in pursuance of the Shops and Offices
Act, 1921–22 :
And whereas I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour,
am satisfied that the sale of the said goods is comprised in
the said trade within the said city, and that the signatures to
such petition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the
said shops within the said city :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 33 of the said Act,
I do hereby direct that on and after the 6th day of February,
1939, the sale of the said goods within the said city shall be
and is hereby prohibited as follows : On Mondays, Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, and Thursdays, after the hour of 5.30 p.m., on
Fridays after the hour of 9 p.m., and on Saturdays after the
hour of 1 p.m.

Whangarei Borough Council’s Abattoir made available for the
Purposes of Part of the Whangarei County.—(Notice
No. Ag. 3633.)
IN pursuance of paragraph (f) of section 15 of the
Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908, it is hereby
notified for public information that the abattoir established
by the Whangarei Borough Council for the district com-
prising the Borough of Whangarei has by Deed of Agreement
dated the 25th day of October, 1938, between the Whangarei
Borough Council and the Whangarei County Council, been
made available for the purposes of that portion of the district
within the jurisdiction of the said Whangarei County Council
comprised and described in the Schedule hereto and that in
terms of the said Deed the said Whangarei Borough Council
shall be the controlling authority of the said abattoir for the
purpose of the abattoir district so extended.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of the Whangarei County lying on the southern
or Whangarei Harbour and river-side of the Whangarei-
Tamaterau Main Highway and bounded by the said Main
Highway from the Waikaraka Stream bridge to the Whangarei
Borough boundary, including the Onerahi Town District,
and on the western side all that area of the Whangarei
County lying on the southern or Whangarei Harbour and
Oakleigh River side of the State Highway and bounded by
the said State Highway from its intersection with the North
Auckland Railway-line at Oakleigh to the Whangarei Borough
boundary.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 13th day of December,
1938, there was filed in the office of the Supreme Court
at Wellington an order made by the Disciplinary Committee
of the New Zealand Law Society on the 9th day of December,
1938, ordering that Matthew Gilbert Neal, of Wellington,
should be censured, that he should be suspended from practice
from the 12th day of December, 1938, to the 31st day of
January, 1939, and that he should pay the sum of £5 5s.
towards the costs of the proceedings.
