Appointment of Honorary Aide-de-Camp to His Excellency the Governor-General.

H IS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint Captain Hugh Merriman Barnes, Royal Navy, H.M.S. “Philomel,” to be Honorary Naval Aide-de-Camp on his staff for a period of one year, vice Captain I. G. Glennie, Royal Navy, whose period of appointment in the New Zealand Division has expired.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block II, Motu Survey District, for the Purposes of an Aerodrome, subject to certain Interests.

N OTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of an aerodrome—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, subject to the leasehold interest created therein by a lease registered in the Land Registry Office at Gisborne as number 3479: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Motuhora and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be taken: 50 acres 1 rood 15 perches, coloured yellow; 1 acre 2 roods 0·1 perches, coloured red.

Being parts Whakapaupakihi No. 4 Block.

Situated in Block II, Motu Survey District (Gisborne R.D.) (S.O. 1565, brown.)

In the Gisborne Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 100337, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thercon coloured as above mentioned.

Approval of Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers' Regulations, 1931.

I N terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers' Regulations, 1931, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.
