I HEREBY give notice that pursuant to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decisions in respect to applications for licenses were made on 15th March, 1939.

Taking of Oysters. Taking of Fish for Sale.
I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received from H. Bradshaw for a license for the taking of oysters from the oyster-beds in Foveaux Strait, by means of the 58 ft. Deisel-engined vessel “Britannia” (B.F. 70), to replace the 36 ft. petrol-engined vessel “Carrie” (B.F. 98). Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect to this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing, so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 4th April, 1939. I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received from W. and S. Ledgerwood for a license to take fish for sale at Port Chalmers by means of a 44 ft. 40 h.p. fishing-vessel (proposed to be built), using trawl-nets. Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 28th March, 1939.

Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.

I HEREBY give notice that applications have been received from—

(1) J. L. Ward for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from two petrol pumps proposed to be installed at a new garage and service station at Otamarakau on the Tauranga–Whakatane Main Highway.

(2) H. Harrison for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from one petrol pump proposed to be installed at his store at Mangatangi.

(3) J. J. McGoldrick for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from pumps proposed to be installed on a new service station and garage at the junction of the Haywards–Pahautanui Roads, Haywards.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 4th April, 1939. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput of petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by the person making the representations.

Variation of Notice including Additional Land in the Waikato Development Scheme.

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby varies the notice dated the 12th day of December, 1938, and published in the Gazette No. 92 of the 15th day of December, 1938, at page 2786, declaring Lot 47, Parish of Pepepe, to be subject to Part I of the said Act, by inserting at the end of the description in the Schedule to the said notice the words “excepting all coal and fire-clay.”
