Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Manufacture of Rubber Tires and Tubes.

I HEREBY give notice that applications have been received from the undermentioned for licenses to carry on the industry of the “manufacture of rubber tires and tubes for all types of vehicles” :—

(1) Reid New Zealand Rubber Mills, Ltd., Auckland.
(2) New Zealand Rubberware Co., Ltd., Christchurch. (Cycle tires and tubes only.)

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 23rd March, 1939.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Town Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, 14th March, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 17th April, 1939.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 19th April, 1939, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.


SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LANDS.

Auckland City.—Town of Orakei.

SECTION 140: Area, 1 rood 0·3 perches. Capital value, £280; half-yearly rent, £7.

Section 141: Area, 1 rood 2·8 perches. Capital value, £300; half-yearly rent, £7 10s.

These sections are situated in Ngaiwi Street in the Orakei Garden Suburb within easy distance of Orakei Railway-station and within ten minutes by bus from Queen Street. The sections which are situated below the level of the road and fall gently away, comprise good easy building-sites with a good outlook. Water, sewerage, gas, and electricity available.

Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, 14th March, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Friday, 21st April, 1939.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 26th April, 1939, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Otorohanga County.—Pirongia Survey District.—Maungakiekie Block.

SECTION 6, Block XI: Area, 206 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £150. Deposit on deferred payments, £10. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £4 11s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 15s.

Weighted with £250 for improvements, comprising a dwelling of three rooms, shed, road boundary fencing, half-share in boundary fencing, subdivisional fencing, and about 40 acres broken from natural state. This sum may be paid in cash, or after payment of a deposit of £25 the balance of £225 may be secured on mortgage over a period of twenty years by half-yearly instalments of £9 0s. 7d.

A mixed farming proposition situated on Mangaiti Road, eight miles from Pirongia Post-office, School, and Saleyards, and fifteen miles from Te Awamutu Railway-station, Dairy Factory, and Saleyards, access being by metalled road from Te Awamutu. The property consists of undulating to easy hilly country with some steep faces, approximately 160 acres being ploughable. The soil is fair quality loam on clay and sandstone formation, watered by running streams. About 40 acres is in worn-out pasture the balance being in its natural state of fern, scrub, and light bush. Ragwort is in evidence and will require to be kept in check.

Weighted with £75 (payable in cash) for improvements, consisting of felling, stumping, 30 chains fencing, and pine trees.

This land is situated in the Borough of Otaki between the Waerenga and Mill Roads, and is all flat land of first-class quality. Municipal facilities are available.
