Lambton Harbour : Fog-signal established.

Position : Lat., 41° 16′ 30″·5 S. ; long., 174° 47′ 18″·0 E.,
near the corner of Fryatt and Aotea Quays (Chart No. 1423).
Abridged Description : Fog-siren.
Details : A fog-siren sounding a blast of ten seconds every
30 seconds has been established in the above position at
an elevation of 35 ft.

Notice to Mariners No. 9 of 1939.

NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—EASTERN APPROACH TO
POVEAUX STRAIT.

Light-and-whistle-buoy established.

Previous notice : No. 7 of 1939 hereby cancelled.
Position : 243° 7 miles from Waipapapa Lighthouse,
lat., 46° 42′·8 S. ; long. 168° 42′·5 E. (approx.).
Abridged description of light : Fl. ev. 3 sec.
Details : A light-and-whistle-buoy painted red and exhi-
biting a flashing white light every three seconds has been
established in the above position. Vessels should pass
northward of the buoy which will be known as Fairchild
rock buoy.

Soundings.

Position : Lat., 37° 05′ S. ; long., 174° 26′ E. (approx.).
Details : A least depth of 15 ft. M.L.W.S. was found
when crossing the bar with the beacons in line (074°) on the
13th March.

Including Additional Land in the Putauaki Development
Scheme.

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amend-
ment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby
declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to
be subject to Part I of the said Act and to be included in the
Putauaki Development Scheme.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land containing 24 acres 2 roods 19 perches,
more or less, situate in the Wairiki Native Land Court
District and known as Section 25, Block IX, Rangitaiki
Upper Survey District, being the land contained in certifi-
cate of title, Vol. 650, folio 222 (Auckland Registry).
Dated at Wellington, this 14th day of March, 1939.

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amend-
ment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby
declares the Native lands described in the Schedule hereto
to be subject to Part I of the said Act and to be included
in the Mahia Development Scheme.

SCHEDULE.

The following Native lands in the Tairawhiti Native Land
Court District, situate in Block V, Mahanga Survey District :—
(1) Lot 11 on deposited plan 4091, being part Rural
Sections 3 and 4, Mahia, and part Section 18, Block V,
Mahanga Survey District, containing 23 acres, more or less.
(2) Part of Lot 12 on deposited plan 4091, being part
Rural Sections 3 and 4, Mahia, and part Sections 14 and
16, Block V, Mahanga Survey District, containing 74 acres
2 roods, more or less, and being the land known under
consolidation proceedings as the Oraka 12d Block.

Total area : 97 acres 2 roods.

Dated at Wellington, this 14th day of March, 1939.

Excluding Land from the Te Kaha Development Scheme.

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 4 of the Native
Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native
Affairs hereby varies the notice dated the 13th day of January,
1932, and published in the Gazette No. 6 of the 21st day of
January, 1932, at pages 115 and 116, declaring the Maraenui
(part) and other blocks to be subject to section 523 of the
Native Land Act, 1931 (now Part I of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1936), by excluding therefrom the Native
land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of Native land in the Wairiki Native Land
Court District situate in Block V, Te Kaha Survey District,
and known as the Te Kaha 10A No. 1 Block, containing
6 acres 3 roods 4 perches, more or less, being that portion
of the Te Kaha 10A Block now known as Te Kaha 10A No. 1.
Dated at Wellington, this 15th day of March, 1939.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under
Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.

I HEREBY give notice that applications have been
received from—
(1) Granity Motors, for a license to sell (retail) motor-
spirit from two pumps proposed to be installed at
the garage at Granity.
(2) H. A. Hohneck, for a license to sell (retail) motor-
spirit at a garage at Auwharewhare.
(3) N. Ross, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from
one petrol pump proposed to be installed at a
garage at Marataei.
(4) J. de Jongh, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit
from one petrol pump to be installed at Manga-
tangi, proposed to be transferred from existing
premises at Kaiana.
(5) Keesan’s Limited, for a license to sell (retail) motor-
spirit from one petrol pump proposed to be in-
stalled at a store at Piripaua.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected
by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applica-
tions, and who wishes to make representations accordingly,
must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach
the undersigned not later than the 28th March, 1939. All
representations must set out clearly the grounds for same
and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput
of petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by
the person making the representations.
