(iv) Sixpence: Every sixpence shall have the same obverse impression and inscription as the half-crown and for the reverse impression a representation of a Huia perched on a branch with the inscription “New Zealand” above and “Sixpence” and the date of the year below.
(v) Threepence: Every threepence shall have the same obverse impression and inscription as the half-crown and for the reverse impression two crossed Patu with “3d.” between their blades and “New Zealand” above and the date of the year below.

The said coins shall be circular. The threepence shall have a plain edge and each of the other coins shall have a graining upon the edge.

The diameters of the said coins shall be as follows: Half-crown, 1·272 inches; florin, 1·126 inches; shilling ·931 inch; sixpence, ·765 inch; threepence, ·642 inch.
PART II.—CENTENNIAL HALF-CROWN.

A silver half-crown to be made and issued during the year 1940 shall in lieu of the designs specified in Part I of this Proclamation bear the designs hereinafter specified.

The design of the obverse impression shall be the uncrowned effigy of His Majesty the King with the inscription “George VI King Emperor.”

The design of the reverse impression shall be the figure of a Maori woman imposed upon a background showing the sun overhead with (a) a Maori Wharepuni and Puhara on her right; (b) modern buildings on her left; (c) the inscription “New Zealand Centennial Half-crown” within the border; and (d) below on a scroll the dates “1840–1940.”

In all other respects the provisions of Part I hereof shall apply to the said coin.
PART III—BRONZE COINS.

The denominations, composition, and weights and the amount of the remedy to be allowed in the making of bronze New Zealand coins shall be as specified in the Schedule hereto.

The designs of the said New Zealand bronze coins shall be as follows:—
(i) Penny: Every penny shall have for the obverse impression the uncrowned effigy of His Majesty the King with the inscription “George VI King Emperor” and for the reverse impression a representation of a Tui perched on a branch of kowhai, with the inscription “New Zealand One Penny” within the border and the date of the year below.
(ii) Halfpenny: Every halfpenny shall have the same obverse impression and inscription as the penny and for the reverse the representation of a Heitiki with Maori ornamental scrolls on each side, with the inscription “New Zealand Halfpenny” within the border and the date of the year below.

Each of the said bronze coins shall be circular and shall have a plain edge.

The dimensions of the said bronze coins shall be, for the penny, a diameter of 30·8 millimetres, and of the halfpenny, a diameter of 25·5 millimetres.
