to be an Inspector of Sea-fishing for the purposes of Part I of the first-mentioned Act.

John Francis Inverarity, of Kaitieke,

to be an officer for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned Act in respect of the Waimarino Acclimatization District.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased in pursuance and by virtue of the powers conferred upon him by section 6 of the Scientific and Industrial Research Act, 1926, to appoint

Professor Henry George Denham, M.A., D.Sc., Ph.D.,

to be a member and to be Chairman of the Advisory Council of Scientific and Industrial Research; and

John Clarke Andrews, Ph.D., M.Sc.,
Alfred Hyde Cockayne, Esquire.,
George Augustus Pascoe, Esquire.
Robert Owen Page, D.Sc.,
Theodore Rigg, Esquire, M.Sc., M.A., F.I.C., F.R.S.N.Z.,

to be the other members of the said Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the appointment to have effect as on and from 1st January, 1940, until 31st December, 1941.
