KOWAI COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and in the matter of the Counties Act, 1920.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Kowai County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the legalization, formation, and construction of a public road or highway—and for such purposes the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, and vested in the Crown.
Notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Kowai County Council at Balcairn and is open for inspection (without payment of any fee) by all persons during office hours. All persons affected by, or having any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said lands or to the execution of such work, are required to state forthwith in writing such objections and forward such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Kowai County Council at its public office situate as aforesaid.
No objection to the amount or payment of any compensation in respect of the execution of such work is a well-grounded objection.
SCHEDULE.
All those parcels of land situate in the Kowai County, and in Block XII of the Grey Survey District, and in Blocks VIII and IX of the Teviotdale Survey District, in the Land District of Canterbury, and respectively containing by admeasurement 2 acres 29 perches, 0-7 of a perch, 1 acre 3-1 perches, 1 acre 5-1 perches, and 1 acre 3 roods 20 perches, be the said areas a little more or less, being parts of Rural Sections 2610 and 2611, and being the balance of the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume 98, folio 30, and parts of the land comprised in Certificates of Title, Volume 393, folio 227, Volume 361, folio 266, and Volume 451, folio 156, Canterbury Land Registry, as the said parcels of land are more particularly delineated and coloured red, blue, and yellow on the plan prepared by Frederick W. Freeman of Christchurch, Registered Surveyor, and numbered 7095 in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch.

WAITANE SAWMILLING AND AFFORESTATION, LIMITED.
ADVERTISEMENT OF PETITION AND LIST OF CREDITORS.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of WAITANE SAWMILLING AND AFFORESTATION, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for confirming the reduction of the capital of the above company from £65,000 to £53,587 10s. was on the 20th day of October, 1939, presented to the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Dunedin, and is now pending, and that by an order dated the 15th day of November, 1939, an inquiry was directed as to the debts, claims, and liabilities of the said company as on the 21st day of November, 1939. A list of the persons admitted to have been creditors of the company for debts, claims, and liabilities to which the said inquiry extends on the said 21st day of November, 1939, may be inspected at the offices of the company at Esk Street, Invercargill, or at the office of Mr. F. M. Hanan, Solicitor, 320 Princes Street, Dunedin, at any time during usual business hours on payment of a charge of one shilling.
Any person who claims to have been on the said 21st day of November, 1939, and still to be, a creditor of the company in respect of any such debt, claim, or liability and who is not entered on the said list and claims to be so entered must on or before the 15th day of December, 1939, send in his name, and address, and description and the particulars of his claim and the name and address of his solicitor (if any) to the undersigned at 320 Princes Street, Dunedin, or, in default thereof, he will be precluded from objecting to the proposed reduction of capital.

(1) That it will cease to have a place of business in New Zealand at the expiration of three months from the first publication of this notice.
(2) That its New Zealand business has been taken over by Colgate-Palmolive, Limited.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 28th day of November, 1939, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—
“ That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up, and that the company be wound up voluntarily.”
