NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the Regulations Act, 1936, of the making of the above-described regulations under the above-entitled Act.

Captain Henry Edward Horan, D.S.C., Royal Navy (Commodore 2nd Class), Chief of the Naval Staff, New Zealand, and First Naval Member of the New Zealand Naval Board, to H.M.S. “Leander” in command, and as Commodore 2nd Class in command of the New Zealand Squadron, vice Captain James William Rivett-Carnac, D.S.C., Royal Navy (Commodore 2nd Class), to date 1st January, 1940, and to retain the appointment of Chief of the Naval Staff, New Zealand, and First Naval Member of the New Zealand Naval Board.

Squadron Leader Barry Stratford Nicholl, R.A.F., is appointed to a commission in the General Duties Branch, Royal New Zealand Air Force, in the rank of Flight Lieutenant, with seniority from the 1st July, 1938, with effect from the 18th September, 1939, and is granted the acting rank of Squadron Leader with effect from the 1st December, 1939.
