Land permanently reserved in the North Auckland Land District
for Recreation Purposes.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section
of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-
General may from time to time set apart temporarily as
reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held
under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion
are required for any of the purposes of the said section
mentioned :
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section
of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved
under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at
the expiration of one month, but not later than six months,
after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary
reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such
permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
was, by the Warrant dated the sixteenth day of October, one
thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, and published in the
Gazette of the nineteenth day of that month, temporarily
reserved under the authority of the said Act for recreation
purposes :
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve
the land described in the Schedule hereto for recreation
purposes for which purposes the said land was so temporarily
reserved as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the City of Auckland, containing by
admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 19-9 perches, more or less,
situated in Block VIII, Rangitoto Survey District, being
Allotments 96 to 105 (inclusive) and 109 to 115 (inclusive) of
Section 1, Suburbs of Auckland, and being the whole of the
land comprised in Certificate of Title, Vol. 186, folio 87,
Auckland Registry.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 29th day of November, 1939.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Pukekohe Borough
Council.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery
Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said
Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic
reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved
under the said Act) in the Pukekohe Borough Council, subject
to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :

The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby
vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the
reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said
Act. -
The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending
on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of
receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve.
Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister
charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as
possible after the close of the year. -
The said Council shall control the said reserve in accord-
ance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations
made thereunder.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the Borough of Pukekohe, containing by
admeasurement 2 acres 3 roods 2-6 perches, more or less,
situated in Block XV, Drury Survey District, being Lots 20
to 27 (inclusive), on plan number 16013, deposited in the
office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being
part of Allotment 12, Pukekohe Parish, and being the whole
of the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Vol. 707, folio 207,
Auckland Registry. As the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/686A, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 29th day of November, 1939.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Wairarapa
Lake-shore Scenic Board.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery
Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control
of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land
reserved under the said Act), for the period of five years
from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked
under the said Act) in the undermentioned persons, namely,—
Norris Gooding,
Jack Raymond Matthews,
Raymond Wilfred Matthews,
Norman Charles Campbell Shepherd, and
Reginald Frank Watson,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board
by the name of the Wairarapa Lake-shore Scenic Board (herein
referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of
scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions
hereinafter contained, that is to say,—
-
The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Thursday,
the twenty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred
and thirty-nine, at eight o’clock p.m., in the Oddfellows Hall,
Featherston. -
The members of the Board shall at their first meeting,
and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote.
The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his
successor. -
Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman,
provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to
each member, specifying the business to be transacted at
such special meeting; and no other business than that so
specified shall be transacted at such meeting. -
Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum.
Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time. -
All questions shall be determined by the majority of
votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting. -
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time
appointed for holding the same, the members present shall
choose one of their number to be Chairman for such meeting. -
If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the
seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any
member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three
consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General
shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member
of the Board in his stead. -
The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting
to be held in the month of April in each year a report of
the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending
on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement
of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year.
A copy of every such report and statement certified by the
Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister in Charge
of Scenery Preservation as soon as possible after each annual
meeting. -
The Board shall control the said reserve in accordance
with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations
made thereunder.
SCHEDULE.
Wairarapa Lake-shore Scenic Reserve.—Wellington
Land District.
Section 1, Block IX, Wairarapa Survey District: Area,
53 acres 12 perches, more or less.
Also Section 2, Block IX, Wairarapa Survey District:
Area, 14 acres 2 roods 11 perches, more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 2nd day of December, 1939.
