Changing the Purpose of Portions of a Reserve in City of Wellington, Wellington Land District.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 29th day of November, 1939.

Present:

THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedules hereto form portions of a reserve duly set apart for public utility purposes :

And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation over such lands shall be changed to reserves for the purposes set out at the end of the respective descriptions of the said lands :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purposes of those portions of the reserve described in the Schedules hereto are hereby changed from reserves for public utility purposes to reserves for the public purposes specified.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the City of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 0·6 perches, more or less, as shown on S.O. plan 53/68, being part of the Town Belt (Public Utility Reserve) adjoining the Town of Wellington, bounded: Towards the north-east by other part of the said Town Belt (Lunatic Asylum Reserve), distance 83·5 links, bearing 109° 50′; thence towards the south-west by other part of the said Town Belt (Public Utility Reserve), distance 79·17 links, bearing 283° 16′ 40″ and by Hospital Road, distance 3·8 links, bearing 282° 43′; thence towards the north-west by Section 758, Town of Wellington, distance 9·57 links, bearing 13° 7′ 35″; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Also all that area in the City of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 0·1 perches, more or less, as shown on S.O. plan 53/68, being part of the Town Belt (Public Utility Reserve) adjoining the Town of Wellington, bounded: Towards the north by other part of the said Town Belt (Lunatic Asylum Reserve); thence towards the south-east and south-west by other part of the said Town Belt (Public Utility Reserve), distance 20 links, bearing 239° 59′ 40″; distance 26·97 links, bearing 279° 20′; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the City of Wellington, comprising by admeasurement 30 perches, more or less, as shown on S.O. plan 53/68, being part of the Town Belt (Public Utility Reserve) adjoining the Town of Wellington, bounded: Towards the north-east by other part of the said Town Belt (Public Utility Reserve), distance 80·16 links, bearing 102° 27′; distance 60·27 links, bearing 105° 47′ 20″; distance 49·9 links, bearing 116° 47′; distance 49·9 links, bearing 140° 9′; distance 49·9 links, bearing 163° 31′; distance 168·51 links, bearing 179° 47′ 10″; distance 3·3 links, bearing 181° 38′ 20″; thence towards the south-east and north-east by other part of the said Town Belt (Lunatic Asylum Reserve), distance 50·74 links, bearing 207° 28′ 50″; distance 30 links; thence towards the east and north-east by other part of the aforesaid Town Belt (Public Utility Reserve), distance 47 links, bearing 181° 38′ 20″; distance 49·97 links, bearing 149° 42′ 30″; distance 50 links, bearing 122° 13′ 30″; distance 49·95 links, bearing 107° 46′ 30″; distance 45 links, bearing 99° 20′; thence towards the south-west, north-west, and south-west by other part of the said Town Belt (Hospital Reserve), being the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Vol. 176, folio 41, Wellington Land Registry, distance 235 links; distance 71·76 links, bearing 278° 51′; distance 239·2 links, bearing 27° 29′; distance 127·55 links, bearing 348° 19′; distance 200 links, bearing 289° 50′; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Also all that area in the City of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 3 perches, more or less, as shown on S.O. plan 53/68, being part of the Town Belt (Public Utility Reserve) adjoining the Town of Wellington, bounded: Towards the north-west and north-east by other part of the said Town Belt (Public Utility Reserve), distance 138·39 links, bearing 59° 59′ 40″; distance 141·89 links, bearing 79° 30′; distance 10 links, bearing 110° 40′ 30″; thence on the south-east by other part of the said Town Belt (Hospital Reserve), being the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Vol. 176, folio 41, Wellington Land Registry; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Akaroa Survey District, Canterbury Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 29th day of November, 1939.

THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart as a site for a public library: And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation over such land shall be changed to a reserve for recreation purposes :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for a site for a public library to a reserve for recreation purposes.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

RESERVE No. 4280 (formerly part Rural Section 2485), Block II, Akaroa Survey District: Area, 8·2 perches, more or less.

Reserve in Southland Land District brought under the Tourist and Health Resorts Control Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 29th day of November, 1939.

Present:

THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the sixth section of the Tourist and Health Resorts Control Act, 1908, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for national park purposes in the Southland Land District, described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of the Tourist and Health Resorts Control Act, 1908; and such reserve shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood 30 perches, more or less, being that part of the Sounds National Park known as Section 1, Block VIII, Greenstone Survey District. As the same is more particularly shown on plan marked L. and S. 4/676D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
