Authorizing Ernest Murcott, of Wairoa Gorge, Farmer, to use Water for the Purpose of generating Electricity.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of November, 1939.

Present:
THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby grant to Ernest Murcott, of Wairoa Gorge, Farmer (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to take and use from Long Gulley Creek, situated in part Section 28, Block IV, Waimea Survey District, for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding two cubic feet per second at any one time.

CONDITIONS.

  1. IMPLIED CONDITIONS.

The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-power Regulations, 1934, the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935, and the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

  1. LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.

This license is issued under the Water-power Regulations, 1934, and is subject thereto and to any regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.

  1. UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS.

Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose of generating electricity up to a maximum capacity of 2 kilowatts at 230 volts direct current, and shall be taken from Long Gulley Creek at the point indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 99874, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

  1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS.

The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 99874:—

(a) Headworks consisting of a dam, intake, and water-race, leading to the water-wheel and power-house hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 20 ft.

(b) A power-house situated on part Section 28, Block IV, Waimea Survey District, with all necessary equipment for generating electricity.

(c) Tail-race leading from the said water-wheel to the said Long Gulley Creek.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of clause 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935. The generating voltage and the transmission voltage shall be approximately 230 volts direct current.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE.

Unless sooner determined, this license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1960, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board, or other general public source, whichever is the earlier.

  1. RENTAL.

For the purpose of assessing the annual rental payable in respect of this license, the licensee may install a suitable maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the Public Works Department, and, failing such installation, the rental shall be assessed on the maximum generating capacity of the plant installed. The present plant is rated at 2 kilowatts.

Revoking a License held by George Duff Grant, of Otiake, authorizing the Use of Water for the Purpose of generating Electricity.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of November, 1939.

THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and with the consent of the licensee, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 63 of the twenty-ninth day of the same month, authorizing George Duff Grant, of Otiake, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity.

Authorizing Alan Macarthur Watt, of Kaeo, Storekeeper, to erect certain Electric Lines in Portion of the County of Whangaroa.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of November, 1939.

THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize Alan Macarthur Watt, of Kaeo, Storekeeper (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto on the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

  1. PURPOSES OF LINES.

The said lines may be used for lighting, power, and heating purposes.

  1. LICENSE TO BE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.

The license hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935, the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, and with all regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.

The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.

The system of supply shall be classified in accordance with paragraph (d) of clause 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935. The voltage of transmission over the lines hereby authorized shall be approximately 32 volts direct current.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE.

Unless sooner determined, this license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1960, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other general public source, whichever is the earlier.

  1. CHARGES ON SALE.

The charges for electrical energy shall not exceed one shilling (1s.) per unit for lighting purposes and sixpence (6d.) per unit for motor-power or heating purposes: Provided that “lighting purposes” shall include the operation of motor-generators for lighting purposes, and provided further that if accounts are paid within fourteen days of due date the charges shall not exceed 9d. per unit for lighting purposes and 4½d. per unit for motor-power or heating purposes.
