IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby abolish the South Hautapu Drainage District.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the City of Christchurch (Church Lane Extension), of a Width less than 66 ft., but not less than 49 ft. 6 in., subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Christchurch City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than forty-nine feet six inches, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the said street within a distance of thirty-five feet from the centre-line of the said street.
SCHEDULE.
THAT proposed street, in the Canterbury Land District, City of Christchurch, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 27·7 perches, more or less, being portions of Lot 4, D.P. 1353, and Lot 1, D.P. 4100, being parts Rural Section 105. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 101913, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red and yellow.

Conferring on Taieri County Council certain Powers of Borough Councils with respect to Waterworks.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of February, 1939.

THE RIGHT HON. M. J. SAVAGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him in that behalf by section one hundred and eighty-two of the Counties Act, 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby confer on the Taieri County Council all the powers with respect to the supply of water for domestic or industrial purposes exercisable by a duly constituted Borough Council under sections eighty-two to eighty-four, eighty-six to eighty-eight, Part XX (with the exception of sections two hundred and fifty-one, two hundred and fifty-three, and two hundred and fifty-four), and section three hundred and forty-six of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and also section twenty of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1938, but subject to the restriction that such powers shall be exercisable only over that portion of the County of Taieri described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land situated in the Otago Land District being parts of the Townships of Middlemarch and Arden and parts of the adjoining lands bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-western corner of Section 10, Block IV, Township of Middlemarch, and running thence along the south-western boundary of Sections 10, 9, 8, 7, and 6 of the said Block IV, to Kirk Street; thence across Kirk Street and along the south-western boundary of Sections 10, 9, 8, 7, and 6, Block III, Township of Middlemarch, to West Street; thence across West Street to the south-western corner of Section 96, Block VII, Township of Middlemarch; thence along the south-western boundary of said Section 96; thence across the Otago Central Railway and along the north-western boundary of Section 97 of the said Block VII to Nottage Street; thence along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 97, 98, 99, and 100 to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 111, Block VII, aforesaid; thence across Nottage Street and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 111 of the said Block VII to the Main Road; thence across the Main Road to the south-eastern corner of Section 74, Block VI, Township of Middlemarch; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 74, 75, 77, 79, and 81 of the said Block VI; thence across the Garthmyl Road and along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 83, 85, 87, 89, and 91 of the said Block VI, to the south-eastern corner of Section 93 of said Block VI; thence along the south-western boundary of Section 118 of the said Block VI, to the south-eastern corner of said Section 118; thence along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 118 to Mold Street; thence across Mold Street to the south-eastern corner of Section 18, Block XIV, Strath Taieri District; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundaries of said Section 18, to its north-eastern corner; thence along the northern boundaries of Sections 18 and 17, Block XIV, Strath Taieri District, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence northerly along the eastern side of Brecon Street and its production to the northern side of Milford Street; thence in a westerly direction along the northern side of Milford Street across the Otago Central Railway and Swansea Street to Bangor Street; thence in a southerly direction along the western side of Bangor Street and across Neath Street, Cardigan Street, and Flint Street, to the northern side of St. Asaph Street; thence along the northern side of St. Asaph Street to the Main Road; thence along the north-eastern side of the Main Road to a point in line with the most northerly corner of the part of Section 73, Block IX, Strath Taieri District, comprising the Otago Hospital Board’s property; thence along the whole of the western boundary of the said property; thence along the southern boundary of the said property to the point where it joins the western boundary of the part of Section 31, Block IX, Strath Taieri District, comprising the Strath Taieri Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s property; thence in a southerly and easterly direction around the boundary of the said last-mentioned property to the Main Road from Middlemarch to Sutton opposite to the commencing point, thence by a right line to the point of commencement.
