MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.

Part of Section 1, Mahakipawa Registration District, Block VIII, Wakamarina Survey District : Area, 123 acres, more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/652, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (L. and S. 4/652.)

All that area containing by admeasurement 5 acres l rood, more or less, being Crown land situated in Block I, Wakamarina Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north generally by Crown land 1150·5 links, 651·9 links, 682·8 links, 938·2 links, and 518·8 links; towards the south generally by Section 36, Block I, aforesaid, 891·2 links and 2930·3 links; and towards the west by Crown land 38·3 links; be all the aforesaid measurements a little more or less. Reserve 1766 (formerly closed road), Block I, Punakaiki Survey District: Area, 8 acres, more or less.

Also Reserve 1767 (formerly closed road), Block I, Punakaiki Survey District: Area, 5 acres, more or less.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act."), has recommended that the State forest lands described in the Schedule hereto should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes: And whereas the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation and Commissioner of State Forests has also, pursuant to section fifty-five of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1938, recommended that the said lands should be declared scenic reserves, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendations:

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section six of the said Act and the said section fifty-five of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1938, do hereby proclaim and declare that the State forest lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be scenic reserves under the said Act, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Hobson County containing by admeasurement 382 acres 1 rood 1 perch, more or less, and being Section 11, Block XVI, Tutamoe Survey District, Section 9 and Section 21 (formerly known as part of Section 8), Block IV, Kaihu Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-western corner of Section 9 aforesaid; thence towards the south-west generally by part of aforesaid Section 8, following right lines, bearing 110° 57', 798·3 links, 157° 12', 893·4 links, 102° 39', 3723·9 links, 95° 08', 716·9 links ; towards the east by Lots 4 and 3 on D.P. 12849, and towards the north-east, north, and west generally by public roads; be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/836, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. North Auckland plans S.O. 16739, 23361, 29451.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Reserve 1759 (formerly part Provisional State Forest 1605), Block I, Hohonu Survey District: Area, 41 acres 2 roods 36 perches, more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/860, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also Reserve 1624 (formerly part Reserve 902), Block I, Poerua Survey District: Area, 13 acres, more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/681B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 117 acres 2 roods, more or less, being portion of Provisional State Forest 1743, and being formerly portion of Section 3293 and Crown land in Block IV, Waimea Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-western corner of Section 3290 and proceeding along the southern boundary of that section for 2675 links; thence bearing 144° 30', 2600 links, 109° 00', 2430 links, 147° 30', 1575 links, 259° 30', 1870 links to the south-eastern corner of Section 1921; thence along the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 1921 to the Paroa-Marsden Road; thence along the eastern side of that road to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/826c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

All that area containing by admeasurement 622 acres 3 roods 20 perches, more or less, being Sections 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 16, and 17, Block XI, Woodland Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. X/100/29A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

All that area containing by admeasurement 269 acres, more or less, being part of Provisional State Forest No. 21, and being parts of Sections 48 and 50, Block VI, Otara Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-western corner of Section 29, Block VI, Otara Survey District; thence due west along the southern boundary of the said Section 29 for a distance of 50 chains; thence due south to a point on the boundary between Sections 48 and 50, Block VI, aforesaid; thence south-easterly to a point on the western boundary of Section 39, Block VI, aforesaid, 15 chains due north of the Tokanui-Haldane Road; thence due south 15 chains to the aforementioned Tokanui-Haldane Road; thence north-westerly generally by the said road to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/679A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
