NOTICE has been received under the hand of the Chairman of the Waihi District Bobby Calf Pool Committee, established by the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, that
Russel Thomas
has been duly elected to be a member of the said committee pursuant to the provisions in that behalf of the said regulations.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Ellesmere Lands Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

THE ELLESMERE LANDS DRAINAGE BOARD.
In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.
NOTICE is hereby given that on the 9th day of September, 1939, the Ellesmere Lands Drainage Board submitted to a poll of the ratepayers of a special area as described in section 36 subsection 4 of the Local Legislation Act, 1938, a proposal to raise a special loan of fifteen thousand pounds (£15,000) known as the “Permanent Outlet of Lake Ellesmere Loan, 1938,” for the following purpose:—
“To provide the Board’s contribution to works to be undertaken by the Government under section 30 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1936, for the drainage and control of Lake Ellesmere in the Canterbury Land District and for the protection of lands adjacent to such lake, including the construction of a permanent outlet from the said lake to the sea.”
At the said poll the votes were recorded as follows:—
The number of votes for the proposal was .. 184
The number of votes against the proposal was .. 19
Majority for the proposal .. 165
I declare the said proposal to be carried.

Classification of Roads in Stratford County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, the Minister of Transport does hereby revoke the Warrants classifying roads in the Stratford County dated the 31st day of October, 1928, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 82 of the first day of November, 1928, commencing at page 3143, and dated the 10th day of August, 1933, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 59 of the 17th day of August, 1933, at page 2080, and does hereby declare that the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Stratford County shall belong to the respective classes of road shown in the said Schedule.

ROADS classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereof of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 7 tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which when carrying a load has an axle weight of not more than 4½ tons on any one axle.
