Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, and Retirements of
Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

Army Department,
Wellington, 10th October, 1939.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the following appointments, promotions,
transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand
Military Forces:—

STAFF AND COMMANDS.

Lieutenant-Colonel F. W. Kemp, M.C., E.D., M.D.,
M.R.C.S., Eng., I.R.C.P., Lond., Reserve of Officers,
N.Z. Medical Corps, is transferred to the Active List
and is appointed Principal Medical Officer, Trentham
Camp. Dated 25th September, 1939.

Lieutenant-Colonel J. H. Will, M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps,
relinquishes the appointments of Assistant Director of
Medical Services and O.C., N.Z.M.C., Northern Military
District, dated 20th September, 1939, and is seconded
for duty with the Special Force. Dated 21st September,
1939.

Lieutenant-Colonel H. S. Kenrick, M.B., F.R.C.S., N.Z.
Medical Corps, relinquishes command of the 1st Field
Ambulance, dated 20th September, 1939, and is appointed
Assistant Director of Medical Services and O.C., N.Z M.C.,
Northern Military District. Dated 21st September, 1939.

Major J. H. H. Wood, M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed
to command the 1st Field Ambulance. Dated 21st
September, 1939.

Captain V. J. Innes, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the
appointment of Adjutant, Army School of Instruction,
Trentham, is appointed Administrative Commandant,
Trentham Military Area, and is granted the temporary
rank of Major. Dated 16th September, 1939.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster G. F. McCulloch, M.B.E.,
N.Z. Permanent Staff, is appointed Adjutant, Army
School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 16th
September, 1939.

N.Z. STAFF CORPS.

The undermentioned are granted short service commissions
in the ranks stated:—

Major G. Mathias, from the Reserve of Officers, to be
Major, with seniority from 20th March, 1937. Dated
2nd October, 1939.

THE MANAWATU MOUNTED RIFLES.

Geoffrey Sylvester Peren (late Lieutenant, Royal Field
Artillery), to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st
August, 1935, and is granted the temporary rank of
Captain. Dated 1st August, 1939.

2nd Lieutenant A. W. Hudson (Retired List) to be
Lieutenant. Dated 1st August, 1939.

2nd Lieutenant S. I. A. Clifford (Retired List) to be
Lieutenant. Dated 1st August, 1939.

Geoffrey Shore Wilson to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation).
Dated 1st August, 1939.

Trevor Graham Neal to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 19th
September, 1939.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Captain F. M. Yendell, from the Reserve of Officers, to
be Captain, with seniority from 22nd September, 1939,
and is posted to the 2nd Medium Battery. Dated 2nd
October, 1939.
